| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 15, 2009 Bomber. Poured a deep amber color with e medium white head. Aroma is mildly sweet but more hoppy and spicey notes. Taste is a smooth malty ale, and a bigger than expected chipotle and spice bite. I thought the chipotle would be milder, but its was bigger, and surprisingly tolerable. Nice bite finish - try it out with some mexican food. mclaughlindw4 (1), Maine, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2009 It poured a nice head but this quickly dissipated to a thin disk of foam. Light and sweet aroma. Beautiful red, goldish color. Nice malty and smoky flavor. I think I can taste the jalapeno. A slightly bitter aftertaste with a little bite (jalapeno?). Very nicely balanced. Another good one from Rogue. keepersj12 (810), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 7, 2009 Not a lot from the aroma. Pours a clear amber with a big foamy head. Flavor is different though. Nice smoke flavor with a bit of chipolte bite. Sounds weird I know but it works. This is probably best enjoyed with a spicy dish like wings or something hot. nearbeer (1858), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Bomber. Clear copper with a small, lasting disc of foam. Aroma is thinned-out smoky mesquite and hickory with some light honey. Flavor is even better, with smoked pepper, earthy vegetals, orange-caramel, charred wood, and some spicy pepperoni. Light-medium body is a bit too watery and frothy, but nicely tingly with spiciness and smoky dry. If this had some body and depth, it would be a truly great rauchbier. mgermani (865), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 23, 2009 Pours a dull amber with a good head. Light sweet red pepper aroma, touch of ash. Tastes strongly of ash, lots and lots of smoke, heat from the pepper - very nice! Good carbonation, slightly thin body but ok. Nice pepper/smoked thing going on - a novelty beer for sure, but well-executed. ericandersnavy (1133), crossroads, Texas, USA

A beer that was whispered about between my friends about how good it was. The smell was very sweet, like rock candy with he malt and than just a teasing of smokey peppers. The taste was similar. I was very much expecting a pepper burn but it was very subtle which is probably for the best. A unique and wonderful beer.
