Taste of hops and pepper with a spicy finish. Complex, but pretty gimmicky. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA

Lots of caramel on the nose, toffee and a twing of pepper. Taste is creamy caramel and toffee wit ha random, very subtle pepper in the end and after. Like a regular amber or pale ale with something spicy in the back of the palate well into the after. Interesting and different. sawyej26 (18), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2008 22oz bottle poured copper-dark amber with light sudsy head. Floral aroma with a very subtle hint of pepper. Full bodied caramel malts that mingle and blend smoothly with the crisp understated flavor of hops, finished with an independent peppery taste and satisfactory burn down the back of the throat. mixinnixon2000 (227), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2008 bottle. light in color. I did not taste the spices right away, but after a couple of sips , I could feel it in the back of my throat. It was something new. I would recommended to try it at least once. swoopjones (1919), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Sample from 22oz bomber. Light to medium amber color. Peppery, slight smokey aroma. Harsh hot chipotle burn. Like it on my tacos but not in my beer. Naka (526), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2008 A very clear weak amber color. A tiny fizzy with head. Sweet toffee with a touch of fruit and a peppery hint in the top of your nose. A lot of taste characteristics of a traditional amber; caramel malts, not a whole lot of bitterness, but after you drink it, you get a smokey peppery flavor. Very interesting but there seems to be a bit of a disconnect between flavors. There needs to be something to tie them together. DrHomolka (730), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2008 Bomber. Pours and orange color with a small white head. Aroma is like a subdued American Barley Wine. Nice balance of sweet, sugary malts and some citrusy hops. Grapefruit, orange, iced tea, brown sugar all present though very subtle and all balanced together. No trace of any pepper or spice in the aroma. Taste is smooth, a little watery, with a quick finish. Bitterness is low. Honestly the chipotles don’t even make their presence known really. I think I can sense some heat or spice on the back end but I could just be reaching. This is all right though nothing I would buy again. JohnnyJ (1350), Carlsbad, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 20, 2008 Pours a reddish amber with white head. Malty/grain flavors with definite smoke in the back ground. Slightly sweet and a little bit of burn and pepper flavor. Its really pretty good. Not a fan of the style, but still enjoyable.
