The nose was malty sweet with smoked chiles The taste was malty with smoked chipotle. The finish was dry and balanced. This was an interesting beer that would go well with many mexican and south american dishes. But isn’t a great session beer nhorween (640), Chicago, Illinois, USA

The guy at the beer store gave me 2 of these due to my "sizeable" purchase, either because he ordered a ton of them, or because they aren’t good. Either way, I didn’t like this beer. It’s an OK beer that gives you a little back of the throat burn, that makes you feel like you have heartburn every time you burp. I really like spicy food, smoked chilis, AND beer, but I didn’t like this one. It’s a good idea on paper, I suppose. rederic (1815), montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 21, 2007 650ml bottle, cloudy amber-orangeish hue, with a small beige head, but leaving laces, yeasty, toasty nose, with some caramelized, biscuity malts, with a peachy floral hop note, with a hint of tangerine fruitiness, and a subtle chipotle chile pepper aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, toasted, caramelized malt character, with a hint of chipotle peppery, a faint black pepper spiciness, with a nice citrus, peachy flowery hop accent, with some toffeeish notes, leading towards a malty, spicy hop bittering finish. robforbes (1099), Bremerton, Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 16, 2007 this is not a brew that you should try at a tasting, you need to try the whole bottle.
at first i did not care for this and rated it as a 2.3 (now a 2.9) after drinking half of the bomber it started to taste a lot better.
pour is cloudy dark amber with a off white head that dissipates quickly.
smell is slightly smokey and a little bit of orange spice, and damp firewood.
taste is chili pepper and hops, sour grass and a little bitter and a little sweet.

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Not a huge fan of the chilli beer but I figured I’d still give it a shot. You never know, right? This wasn’t really horrible but really nothing special either. A little bit of pepper in the flavor but mostly just an average ale.
