Commercial Description:
Dedicated to Spanish author Juan de la Cueva, who, in 1575, wrote of a Mexican dish that combined seedless chipotles with beer: Chipotle Ale is based on Rogue's Oregon Golden Ale, but delicately spiced with smoked chipotle chile peppers. Deep golden in color with a tight head, rich malty aroma, delicately smooth and crisp flavor, and subtle chipotle chili finish. Formerly known and packages as Mexicali Rogue, Chipotle Ale is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, and Maier Munich Malts; Willamette and Cascade hops; and Smoked Jalapeno (Chipolte) Peppers. Chipotle Ale is targeted for spring release and available in a 22-ounce bottle and on draft. Blend it with Rogue Chocolate Stout and create a Mole' black and tan!

Measurements: 12 degrees Plato, IBU 35, Apparent attenuation 82, Lovibond 23

Pours a clear amber with no head. Aleish with a a lot of chile flavors buildig up and getting stronger in the mouth. Quite long and strong peppar in the finish with some yeast. Tiny hint of vegetables too. Medium to low carbonation. This one is much better than Cave Creek´s version, but chiles IMHO does not belong in beers.

Deep golden in color. Peppers in the aroma with hint of malt. Taste was of spice, malt, and smokiness. I liked this but everyone I drank it with did not. Interesting beer nonetheless

Bottle from Trenton take out. Hazy coppery pour with off white thick head. Pepper like aroma with a hint of sweet malt. Very odd taste ! I detectedsome sweet malt, some smokiness and spice. This was just average to below average for me.

22 oz bomber. Aroma is, well I shouldn’t say weak, but it was indistinct. Not bad, but nothing striking. I’m a huge fan of chili peppers, but I could not really tell too much of it in the flavor. Mostly a smoky flavor permiates this beverage.

No aroma, but okay look of bright bronze. Flavor of smoke and too much chilipeppers. You’ll not get burned in your throth, but a little less and it would be great, I think to ex. indian food, which already is very spicy.

The aroma is smokey. Pours amber with a good sized head. I was hoping the taste would be spicy (huge salsa/hot sauce/pepper fan) but it is basically just smokey. Not a bad beer by any means, just not what i was expecting. Probably be interesting if paired with mexican or other spicy foods.
