On tap at Ice House Pub in Punta Gorda. Pours out in a very dark black creamy liquid. Aroma of full on chocolates, coffee, pure malts with a silght hint of hop. Flavor is of pure chocolates, malts and some hops. Some great beer, find it and drink it!

Bottle. Poured dark brown with a thick chocolate colored head. Aroma was somewhat hoppy-salty, chocolate milk, cream, and very sweet overall. Flavor was similarly over-sweet chocolate milk, cocoa powder, cream, hint of vanilla, but then excessively hopped which produced a strange salt water taffy flavor. Palate was actually somewhat light but produced a good amount of lacing. Not great on its own but pretty good with a cigar.

1 pt. 6 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, huge brown head. Sweetish aroma with strong notes of chocolate / cocoa, also notes of vanilla. Silky mouthfeel. The flavour is moderately sweet, again with dominant notes of chocolate / cocoa and vanilla, but also a distinct hoppy bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Not bad at all.

This stuff pours black very black with some dark brown showing around the edges of my mug, there was a good inch of dark brown big bubble head that did last almost to the end of my glass. The smell of this stuff is almost pure bakers chocolate, with maybe some bitter coffee, and I think I can smell some hops witch is giving this brew a soapy aroma. On my first sip the first thing that came to mind was "mmmmmm........Easter Bunny" very chocolatey flavor that leaves a very bitter after taste, but then I can also taste hops, I hate hops in a stout it ruins the taste for me don’t get me wrong I like beers with a ton of hops in them just not in stouts and porters. This was a O.K. beer but in my opinion it dosn’t live up to its legend, maybe take out the hops and then this would be a beer I would love

The aroma of this beer makes me salivate. Strong warm chocolate rules in beer! This has enough of that. Fresh smelling too. The only negative is that it has a slight powdery smell and could be more complex. Other slights: alcohol, malt and the hops. Something in there makes me think of port. You’d have to say that this brew is black. It’s got a good chocolate milk cap - poured pretty good, but it’s dropped to a thin line....one that won’t go away. Ok lacing, but it’s spotty. Taste needs to have way more chocolate. Very bitter chocolate flavour (that baker’s stuff that you’d get all exited about when you were young - until you took that first big bite), maybe a slight coffee touch (maybe) and too many hops. The hops do well in this beer - soft, background, but what exists is still too bitter for me in this type of beer (barely... after another one of these I’m sure I’ll take that back). I like the chocolate bitter and hop bitter is good, but a soft bitter. Pretty straight forward flavour. Mouthfeel is smooth, tasty (malts and hops leave traces) and has a bitterness that is quiet. Concidering Cascade hops have been used, they have been controlled well. Good beer. Still doesn’t defeat the mighty Youngs.

This poured a beautiful dark color, and has a pleasant chocolate smell to it. The chocolate taste wasn’t strong in the beer, it fit perfectly. This wasn’t bitter, and not too sweet, it was a very drinkable stout.

Bottle Pours a nice black with a lasting tan head. The head is creamy and lasting. Produces decent lacing. Has a good aroma of chocolate. Smells like a tootsie roll. It is cool. Has a good carbonation. A wonderful outhfeel. The flavor is robustly chocolate. Well balanced and fresh. Has a thicker body. A real good finish and a nice aftertaste. This is a sweet drinking beer. Maybe not for everyone but very good. I like it a lot.
