On tap at the Alibi Room. Pours black - extremely thick body of coffee, chocolate and malt, slight bitterness. Fantastic stout.

22 oz bottle. Pours black, black, black with a thick, thick, thick dark tan rocky head. Nice lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate, malt. Bitterness lingers on the back of the tongue. Chocolate isn’t as prominent as I was hoping. Tastes pretty bitter for a sweet stout. What a quality beer though.

22oz bottle from some ridiculously priced store on 9th avenue and 46th!... Pours close to black with a medium tan head... Aroma of powdered cocoa and milk chocolate... Flavors begin with smooth milk chocolate which were pretty nice but some odd mettalic came forth which really took away from it’s enjoyability. Creamy medium mouthfeel

Heavy dark chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Poured a pitch black with a sizable tan head. Good flavors of chocolate, roasted malt, and some coffee. Slight bitterness with a creamy finish. Makes for a good dessert beer.

On tap at Rogue Issaquah and in Portland @ Flanders. Heavy dark chocolate/cocoa aroma with a sweet almost sinewy and lingering finish. This is a pretty straightforward beer, it’s all about the chocolate extract, malty sweetness, paired with a little roasted barley bite. And more importantly they were able to keep the abv down to just above 6%, some of the other imperial choc stouts are a bit high in abv to really enjoy thoroughly. The brewpub often serves it a tad on the cold side, I like to let it warm up quite a bit and it becomes more complex conjuring up clouds of anise and licorice. A fine stout to pair with dessert or your favorite ice cream. Who wouldn’t love a Chocolate Stout shake? Just don’t let the kids in on it.

66cl Bottle at Beer Temple. Dark brown to black colour, beige head. Aroma of chocolate and cocoa. Flavour is sweet, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, light hoppy bitterness besides the chocolate bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied. Maybe one dimensional, but very good and tasty.

Wow, have only had this once before and decided to rate. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is strong chocolate, with a little hint of coffee. Taste is liquid chocolate, very similar to a tootsie roll or cupcake. Super sweet beer, but oh so good!
