I’ve got to admit that as a beer fan, I need to learn to appreciate stouts. I like them, I just don’t love them like I probably should...until now. This is a fantastic beer. The finish literally tastes like chocolate truffles. Pours an ebony color with a dark caramel head. Aroma of oak and smoke as is typical with good stouts. Smooth as can be on the palate and full of flavor with no reprehensible characteristics. Rogue, welcome to my mouth.

A great beer in concept, but not in reality. The chocolate flavor is definitely there, and then nothing else but malt. Really tastes like a Guinness with some Carnation powdered cocoa mixed in. The body is watery. Still, despite those negative aspects, it is not unpleasant and somewhat enjoyable. In other words decent, but could’ve been so much more. Overrated.

Pour is deep brown with light brown frothy head. Aromas of chocolate, malt, and nice coffee. Flavor is upfront with chocolate, coffee, and a nice smooth finish.

This was a big surprise! On tap at Bistro Roca in Blowing Rock, NC (a great little gem of a bar in the mountains). Went great with the chocolate torte and vanilla ice cream I had for dessert. Very dry chocolate, stout and coffee flavors. So clean!

22 oz bomber. Split with some friends into a tulip glass. Poured a dark black with a huge brown head. Aroma and flavor are both heavy with chocolate. Some coffee in the flavor as well. Great beer.

on Tap @ Tremont Tap House. pours a nice chocolatey black with brown head, taste is as you’d imagine chocolate and velvety smooth.. not as in your face chocolate as Choklat but still a nice dessert beer.
