Looked beautiful pouring into the glass. Nice head on it.Nice chocolate and hop aroma. I couldn’t really taste any chocolatey sweetness but what do I know? More of a bitter/dark chocolate taste which I prefer. More of a dry stout rather than a sweet stout to me.The chocolate flavor seems to linger on the tongue. A well made beer in my opinion.

Bottle. Very good chocolate stout with a lingering chocolate flavor. Good balance of hops and chocolate malts.

Sweet, fresh aroma with mild chocolate tones. Deep, dark brown color with medium tan head and good head retention. (Not sure if bottle conditioned.) Full-bodied flavor with very strong, sweet chocolate. However, a very mild off-taste at the very end. Palate lingers and develops. Chocolate comes out more on your palate with time. Overall impression is quite good Not sure how this stands in it’s BJCP category, but it fits my bill

Bottle, courtesy of yalnikim, my first taste of this famous brewery. Poured a dark brown, but with little head. The nose is like pure melted milk chocolate, though Fritha also detects a touch of jelly. Plenty of milk chocolate in the flavour as well, with just a touch of roast on the palate, making it quite dry. Gets points for being unusual, but I wouldn’t choose to drink it again - unlike yalnikim’s superb Mild from the same night.

Tasted 28/06/2009. 22-ounce bottle from my cellar shared with TheGrandMaster. No notes. Whoa -chocolate Aroma is reminiscent of sweet hot chocolate. A very nice, fairly bitter, sweet stout lurks underneath but the chocolate aroma overwhelms a little and is out of balance. A nice beer with a gimmicky limp, I suppose.

bottle thanks to metzler’s in denton, tx. poured a solid black with decent brown head. aroma was a bittersweet symphany of malt, hops, and chocolate. flavor was much the same with a hint of coffee. carbonation seemed to be light. this was a good one, but not my favorite by them.

What a treat this was! It pours a deep black colour with a large brown head. Aroma is very chocolatey and sweet. Mouthfeel is very full, lightly carbonated and creamy. Taste is very creamy as well- chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and black cherry flavors. I am very happy i finally bought this one, can’t wait to have it again:)

The beer pours a deep black with a thick light brown head. The nose is rich a deep smelling of chocolate and light hops. The flavor is great it’s like drinking hoppy liquid chocolate. The finish is sweet and biter is a nice chocolate flavor. The only down side is that the beer is somewhat watery, I wish it was thicker.
