The flavor has more bitter roast and the chocolate starts subtly and builds to dominate the finish. Very good chocolate beer. It’s much lighter and more easy to drink than many other chocolate stouts. JustinFromAL (114), Birmingham, Alabama, USA

I had the pleasure of volunteering for the first session and was the designated pourer for this beer Almost globally it was loved. Personally it’s the best stout I’ve ever had, right in my flavor spectrum Dark, mellow, very thick frothy head. Malty and lightly chocolaty posikyle (165), Alabama, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 1, 2008 My new favorite stout. Pours out very thick, almost sludge like, with a thin head and a big sweet aroma. Flavor is all malts, with some chocolate notes, but note really so much that it ruins the experience. Definitely recommended. yespr (12345), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Aroma is dense chocolate with a strange yet nice fruity note - towards berries. I pick up the same distinct berry note in the flavour too. Nicely roasted malt, bitterhops flavour and smooth yet slight dusty chocolate powderish flavour. Solid bitter and roasted finish. Strange with this distinct berry flavour, yet it is very pleasing. westknife (17), USA

Unsurprisingly, the flavour of this smooth, deep brown beer is dominated by chocolate, but that’s no bad thing. The warming bitterness of the hops adds delightfully to the effect. I thought this was very good indeed. Carlus12 (361), London, Greater London, England

Aroma is chocolate, roast malts, smoky, fruity. Taste is cocoa, sweet, coffee, creamy, rich. Finsh is slightly hoppy. A delightful beer. yesyouam (602), Fairport, New York, USA
| 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | May 22, 2008 Rogue Chocolate Stout is a black ale with a foamy, light brown head that exhibits great retention. It has a strong roasted chocolate malt aroma. It is sweet, dark and a bit fruity. It is smooth and full bodied; soft with a snappy finish. It is a very full flavor: pretty sweet and quite bitter. It’s like dark chocolate with a touch of citrus. The flavor is well balanced. This beer is almost like a liqueur. Damn. I can find no fault with this beer. I think it’s the best beer I’ve ever had.
