Heavy malty and dark chocolate aroma. Large, frothy, light brown head. Good lacing. Mostly lasting longevity. Black body. Heavy bitter initial flavor with powerfull chocolate notes and a long finish duration. Medium palate.

Maybe the best all-around chocolate stout I’ve had, for my taste. Pours a deep, oily black with developing dark brown head. Nose of sweet, dark chocolate and roasty espresso. Flavor is just lightly sweet, going into a very mild, roasty bitterness with more chocolate and espresso lasting into the long aftertaste. I’m happy that the hopping is so restrained, to let the chocolate and malty flavors come through. We paired this last night with a cherry tart, and it’s hard to imagine a better combo. Big thanks to my sister-in-law and future brother-in-law for sending this across the pond to us.

Pours a very dark fudge brown with a small but full brown head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, coffee, and some oats. Has a nice bittersweet chocolate start with a very roasted finish. Body is creamy but a little thin. The oats come through a little sweet, maybe some more could have thickened this up a bit and filled out the body.

Wow. On tap. Opaque black pour with a monstrous tan head. A few ruby highlights near the bottom. Big chocolate aroma full of roasted malt and oats. Flavor is very rich and chocolaty, with a smoothness I tend to ascribe to oatmeal stouts. Big dark chocolate taste fading into semi-sweet at the finish. Great body. A wonderful sweet stout.

Dark brown almost black in color with a thick tan head. Bitter chocolate and coffee aroma. Taste is bitter roasted malt and a little coffee, but balanced with some malt and sweetness; nice hops too. This is a medium bodied and carbonated beer and actually very drinkable despite the strong flavors. Nice beer.
