| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Fantastic. Had some on tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a pitch black with beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Flavor is intense, various coffee notes such as expresso and mocha, and a nice bitter chocolate backbone. Creamy and filling with a smooth finish. I highly recommend. Pwn3d (1087), Manhattan, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 20, 2009 Sampled at RnH. Pour is black with mocha color head atop. Flavor is heavily dark chocolate/cocoa.. with some espresso roastiness, and a bit lactic. Rich and bold. While it does not really compete with Southern Tier Chokolat, it is nicely done. However, i’m worried I might get sick of this after a while 3.75 jaghana (106), Strasbourg, France

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 17, 2009 Pours a serious black. Completely opaque. Aroma is wonderful. Mellow roasted chocolate, smooth and rich, smells sweet with some oats. Flavor is very rich, roasted malts and mellow smooth chocolate. Finishes bittersweet with some hops and coffee flavor. Mouthfeel begins creamy, but thins out and becomes watery at the end. Overall though, a very rich and enjoyable beer. gyllenbock (311), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 15, 2009 Bottle. Black with a quite large brownish head. A lot of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, vanilla in aroma.
Licorice, coffee and dark chocolate. Fairly sweet and balanced. Fluid seemed rather dry and the body was medium to full. Long and nice aftertaste. Changed (167), Ithaca, New York, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 14, 2009 22oz bomber. Pours medium thick black with tan head that dissipates, and a lasting lace. Aroma of chocolate milk. If you did a double blind test with this beer and Nestles chocolate milk, you’d probably have some mixed up results. Flavor doesn’t show through until the beer has passed down your throat. At that point, it turns into a chocolate bounty, then an aftertaste of dark chocolate and coffee. From Nestles chocolate milk to dark chocolate and espresso, this beer is nice and complex. Goes down super smooth, as it should. Great Rogue beer. aaaaaaaaaah (63), Warren, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 14, 2009 On tap. Large creamy frothy light drown head with excellent lacing that lasted a long time. Aroma is mostly coca and doughy yeast and roasted malt. Initial flavor is coca with weak hops, followed by sweet chocolate finished with coco bitter.
