Dec 23, 2003 Updated: Jan 12, 2009aaahhh, what a wonderful nose. It’s like a dream, swimming in a swimming pool full of chocolate - it smells soooooo good. Roasted chocolate taste, not sweet but smooth. Nice outfit - cute hazelnut brown layer on pitch black syrupy brew.

Public Ale House- Downtown Portland - Nov. 2008: You gotta do hat you gotta do - I have to say this is a 5 - you know - screw it - heck yes- why not. Pitch black color, small head. Amazing 75 % Choclate taste. Long lasting. It is like melting a nice quality chocolate bar in your mouth 24 hours straigt. Toally love it.

Jan 4, 2007 Pours black w/ a full, semi creamy froth that recedes slowly to reveal a full canopy w/ dense brewers lace. Nice retention. Aromas of sweet maple and cocoa. I can’t believe this is beer. Impressive. Full nectar w/ ample residual effers creating somewhat of a velvety texture. Decadent roasted malts and bakers cocoa. Huge chocolate essense. A little citrus shines through as it warms. Nice balancing hop componant. Finish has precision bittering to a pin point w/ velvety hops. This brew is amazing. I’m not a fan of the chocolate thing but I really appreciate this specimen. I was able to drink the whole 22ozzies. It blows away Sam Adams C.B. and murders Youngs w/ a pitchfork. I highly recommend this to all you chocolate lovers. Overall: this brew hits all the factors I use to score a brew right between the eyes. It deserves the current score.

Nov 9, 2006 Updated: Dec 7, 2007Get ripped on real Chocolate! If you like beer and chocolate than it just doesn’t get any better. What a great stout from rogue; way better than the shakespeare. I’m not sure what i like more, the taste, or looking at the hunks of floating chocolate?

Apr 7, 2009 by far the best chocolate stout out there.. pours thick black creamy huge head.. smell is so awasome chocolate candy bar.. taste is so malty, chocolate cake. overall just a great beer to drink after supper for dessert
