Jun 28, 2008 Assuming this would not be a grand beer, I still felt compelled to grab a bottle of this malt likka. Sparkling yellow pour with a decent sized white head and sticky lacing. Smells of sugary sweet pale malt and light adjuncts. Creamy for a lager, and overly sweet with a hint of high octane alcohol. Flavor is grainy and fairly sweet. Adjunct power along with a grassy/spicy hop characteristic. In the end it’s still a malt liquor, worth trying once.

Jun 26, 2008 I say if you are going to brew a malt liquor, you sleaze it all the way to the end. This is kind of more like a strong ale really. Sweetish and has a lingering alcohol finish. It doesn’t have that gasoline taste that a true bottom feeding malt liquor would have.

Jun 26, 2008 Color is a typical amber, though more orange than the average lager. Smell is not strong and fairly malty, not very impressive. Flavor is all right, malty with a good alcohol zing to it, not complex. Texture is fairly smooth but has an edge. Not Rogue’s best, but I’m sure it tastes better than most malt liquors.

Jun 17, 2008 Medium gold body with a slightly off white head. The aroma is sweet corn, but more pleasant than your typical malt liquor. It also has a little bit of perfume and pancakes. Very sweet smell of cheap honey candy. The taste is light corn with some apple hints. Obviously a big sweet lager, it lacks the fusel alcohol normally present in malt liquors. Actually, this is decent.

Jun 14, 2008 I feel bad rating anything from Rogue this poorly, but I have to go with my gut..especially with the feeling that it was left with after drinking a bottle of this one here. A malt liquor...are you kidding me? It’s brewed with corn, and that’s about all you taste. I did finish the beer, however...you still have to respect the name of the brewer...

Jun 13, 2008 Another malt liqour. Has the strength of the malt liqour style in the flavor throughout. Strong and abrasive in the finish, even rogue can’t save this style.

Jun 11, 2008 22 oz bottle thanks to Devon for starting this day off right for me. This one is for my homies and for my malt liquor rating. My last style rating until some new styles are invented. Pours a clear orange with a small head. Nose isn’t bad when you put it in context. Just grain alcohol and malt. It wasn’t the offensive malt liquor aroma I was expecting. Similar flavors. Lightly sweet malts with that grainy alcohol. Decent for the style, but a small glass is enough for me.

Jun 10, 2008 Beany hoppy aroma with light pilsner malt. Mild hops. Could swear there’s also an aroma of S.O.S. (the food, not the scrubbing pad). Clear golden with no head. Light watery body with medium light carbonation. Starts sweet with mild pilsner malt and some beany hops. Really tastes like a malt liquor - grainy with adjuncts. Mild sweet pils finish and mild hops. Grainy after. Not very good.
