Yes, it’s a malt liquor, but still I expected more from Rogue. Almost tasteless from the onset. Nice alcohol feel is about the only positive I can muster. If I want to drink a tasteless, high-alcohol beer I’ll drink an Ice House or something. tnkw01 (208), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

That’s what my dad drank. Still, not as good as Dogfish Head’s. fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear golden with a small white head that fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma of malt, corn, alcohol, and a hint of floral hops. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and slightly warm alcohol. Not Bad. BigMilly8 (376), Holiday, Florida, USA
| 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 2/20 | Feb 8, 2008 From bottle : Pours very clear light gold color, with a small white head that quickly dies to little patches of foam on the surface. Nose of sourness, alcohol, corn, and some malt, a mixture that im not finding very appealing at the moment, or any moment for that matter. Taste is horrible, even worse then the smell. It has some malt and corn flavors, but leaves a aweful stale taste in your mouth, i would rather drink pee. Medium body, sticky palate, horrible beer. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 2, 2008 From a 22oz Bottle. Pours a transparent straw gold color with a two finger head of fizzy white. Aromas of flaked maize, sweet malt sugar, and a faint whiff of bitter hops. The corn actually has a nice fresh quality to it, not the sickly DMS trait. The hops have this weird dusty/planty quality and don’t really have any bright floral, herbal, or citrus qualities - just a dirty, planty bitterness. Full bodied, sparkling carbonation with a sizzling prickle. Heavy and sticky sweet, with flavors of corn syrup striking the palate immediately. Rather hoppy, this beer develops a strong bitterness (for a malt liquor) toward the back end, but it’s certainly not a pleasant sensation. The flavors are more of the stale planty bitterness found in the aroma. I would actually prefer the hops to be dialed back a bit, allowing the clean malt flavors to come out a bit more. More attenuation would also be beneficial. With those tweaks, I think this could be a really tasty malt liquor. aliendan (25), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 26, 2008 Murky yellow beer with quickly dissipating white head. Corny aroma. Malty sweet flavor with little bitterness and a weird corn aftertaste. If it wasn’t for the corn it’d be alright. Not a big fan of corn adjuncts. zebracakes (1216), Washington DC, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jan 26, 2008 Bottle, 650 ml. Pours hazy orange gold, thin white head. Aroma is corn, malt, rubbing alcohol. Flavor is ketchup, corn, malt, alcohol: sort of corn dog-esque. Gregis (1134), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 24, 2008 Pours a hazy straw with a dense, frothy, white head. The nose is sweet and malty. It actually makes me think of Corn Chex and simple sugar. Light to medium-bodied and slick with a tight, faintly bitter and metallic finish. This tastes like someone took a pilsner recipe and added a boatload of extra fermentable sugars. Very sweet and corny, this beer is the quintessential anti-hop bomb; it’s all about the malt, baby.
