| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Oct 17, 2007 Liquid that is lightly hazed and dark golden color. An atypical fizzy off-white head that diminishes to the few remaining bubbles that float to the top and find their way to the edge of the glass and die a slow death. Aromas of grain and corn mush, along with some sour grape wine. Hints of pale malt surrounded by syrupy goo and alcohol. A thin corn sugar with a hint of herbal hops. Biting in the finish and into the linger. Luckily little is left in the end. A great effort to make a brew that matches our style guidelines. I have actually had a couple of malt liquors at brew pubs that do not taste like the typical malt liquor from City Brewery (they are real good at making these sugary alcoholic bombs) that actually are malt based and are fine brews. The one I long for is Great Dane’s Pre Pro-tel Memorial Malt Liquor; it was named after the brew pubs original delivery van and was a fine hearty, malt liquor. Not this cheap tasting piece of crap. To think I was actually excited to find this, thinking it may actually be a well made brew. As a single Dad I am even offended by the fact that they add the story of father’s day to the side of the bottle. Bah! joverton85 (80), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 9, 2007 small thin white head and weak yellow body, not very pretty but tasty. it is good for being a malt liquor and better than any other, which isn’t really saying much. i liked the malty flavor and smooth taste. for the price it’s not really worth spending on a "good" malt liquor but the novelty is fun. maltdog (518), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Pale dirty yellow with a thin, slumpy soapsud head. Very soft malty and grainy aromas, perhaps also notes of apple, DMS, and damp earth. Nearly flavorless... corn-heavy macrolager... a suggestion of floral/honey character. Overall sulphur/industrial chimney impression. Barely recognizable hop bitterness. Minimal carbonation contributes to a flabby, oily mouthfeel. Quality of the bottle’s contents are far outshadowed by the bottle itself. Overall, tastes like gummy, bile-soured hangover mouth. The last thing craft brewings needs is another Rogue novelty beer. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 24, 2007 Pours a mostly translucent golden with amber note and a smaller creamy white head that left some lacing. Aroma was sweet and malty. Some corn, grains, caramel and some honey/floral notes. Flavor is also very malty and sweet. Picking up the grains, corn and a touch of honey/caramel. Decent for the style I suppose, still just too sweet and in a cloying type of way. cbkschubert (2015), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 24, 2007 22 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquor - Pours a light golden color with a one finger thick white head. Light spotty lacing. Aroma is herbal/grassy hops and light grain. Flavor is lightly sweetened grain balanced nicely with a small hop presence. Not too bitter. Medium body. I was expecting something nasty like Schlitz Malt liquor. It’s not that bad. Worth a try. BudWeiser (10), West Linn, Oregon, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 19, 2007 22oz’er. Yep it’s a malt liquor...just like the bottle says. However when forced to drink something like this....I would pcik this beer over a Mickey’s or King Corbra or an Old E. Goes down easy and smooth. No hot flavors or anything like that. Nice carb and very clear golden in color. For it’s style I would say it’s good. Bradrcr (781), Renton, Washington, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 16, 2007 On Draught at the Issaquah Brewhouse. Aroma is faint sweet malt with a slight sour carbonic note. Appearance is light straw, clear, with a low white head. Flavor is sweet malt forward with some sourness and carbonic flavors. Beer has medium/high bittering with some actual hop complexity, but flavors are just too low overall. Mouthfeel is light bodied with a medium/high carb feel. Overall, better than expected. brianjames1 (322), Northridge, California, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 15, 2007 22oz bottle. Wow this is probably one of the worst Rogue Ale’s I have had. I should have known after reading the "malt liquor" label on the bottle. In Rogues defense, I know that they were trying to make this type of beer and get this type of flavor and still its 100 times better than any malt liquor out there. Pours a light yellow, pretty much no aroma, and the taste is very malty. I would still take this over any macro brew like bud or miller.
