Pours a clear gold with yellow highlights and a thin, white head (no lace). The aroma is very yeasty with decent amount of malts, too. The flavor is medium in balance - with a firm, golden malt presence. It also has other interesting artifacts (which happen to be hallmarks of this style): sugar, banana, hints of pear, and a touch of alcohol. The mouthfeel is quite full-bodied, but nicely carbonated to provide a pleasant texture. Overall, very nice - now I know what a premium "malt liquor" tastes like, and it is substantially more palatable than Old English 800 or its ilk.

Not much to this beer. It was a very hot day when I tried it, so it was very refreshing and went down very easily. Otherwise, not much by way of flavor or mouthfeel. I’d get this beer for a post-lawnmowing refreshment, or maybe for a party, but it just didn’t do much for me. Better than a Bud, but not on par with other Rogue brews.

Pours a light amber color with a white head. Aroma is of sweet malt, grassiness, and a slight hint of some floral hops. Flavor starts off almost non-existant then the malts hit you pretty strong. Finishes somewhat sweet with a little alcohol warming but not much. Not good.

On draught at Tyler’s in Carrboro. Pint Night, baby! Except, I left my glass there :( Oh well. This beer was much better than I expected. Yes, I was really craving a beer when I got this, but it really wasnt all that bad. Not as sweet and cloying as I expected. Would not have guessed this is malt liquor if served it blind. Pretty good, but nothing I’d pay more than 3 dollars for if I didnt get to keep the glass and leave it at the bar!

From a 22 oz bottle this poured a very clear color that reminded me of apple cider with a moderate head and mild lacing. Nose is malts with a tinge of hops. Mouthfeel decent and flavor is kind of like souped up Bud, but actually not bad for a malt liquor. It is not something I would drink regularly, but was surprisingly good.

Draft at Mad Mex in Robinson. Interesting malt liqour, pours a pale yellow with no lacing and quickly diminishing head. Tasted like a jagerbomb or mendalbomb, very sweet and alcoholic with not alot of carbonation.

Bomber. Aroma of sugar and malt - not sweet malt, sugar. Brassy gold color with a white head that’s not overly impressive. Thin to medium bodied. Nice level of carbonation. Unfortunately it has that sicky sweet characteristic of mass malt liquors. Gee, but it’s sweet. On balance there are some bitter notes. The sweetness is a bit reminiscent of a Belgian ale. There is grape, and perhaps honey, but the effect is not what one would hope for in an ale. It gets credit for making malt liquor drinkable. Seems a bit of a waste when the resources could have been used to make an ale!
