Pours a rich golden color with a poofy white head of ethereal staying power. Aroma is an olfactory sizzling corn grain rasp. Flavor is malty sweet with an odd medicinal chemical bite. I think they were trying for these tastes and achieved it. I would rate this much higher if it were sold for $0.99 or less as other malt liquors on the shelf are. As a concept, I think the craft big boys need to abandon the "I know, let’s make a malt liquor" game. The novelty is old. unless of course, they decide to put a rebus on the cap liner. Then, I’m all for it. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Aug 22, 2006 Pours with a diminishing white head, lots of bubbles, dark yellow clear color. Aroma is corn, flour, light metallics.Taste is malt dominated, lots of corn. Foul bitterness combined with slight oxidation. Heavy body. Astrigent finish. Not a whole lot better than your average BMC ML. UnsofistaCat (222), Garden City, Michigan, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Aug 20, 2006 Yuck. Why a good brewery would purposely make a bad beer is beyond me. I like the ode to father’s day, but why a malt liquor? A lawn more beer would have been much more appropriate and, for that matter drinkable. It has a nasty corn sugar taste on the backend. Corny swill like this should at least be balanced. Booo! 11026 (1772), Alabama, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 18, 2006 Bottle. Pours a clear, medium golden color with a rocky white head. The head fades quickly to a medium layer and leaves a smattering of lacing behind. Sweet, moderately corny aroma. Medium bodied and fairly carbonated. Flavor is also sweetish, bits of corn. A bit overdone with sugary sweetness. Suprisingly mellow. While certainly not a stellar performer in the beer world I am suprised at the number of sub-2 ratings this is racking up Jokes (1453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 18, 2006 Clear golden body with no head. The aroma is boring, bland, but slightly sweet, very little vegetal character, but some mild corn. The body is pretty light despite the alcohol and lack of carabonation. The flavor isn’t bad and it’s definitely the best tasting malt liquor I’ve had to date. Certainly not the most enjoyable beer, but a tasty, drinkable ML and in a 22 oz bottle to boot! presario (3010), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Aug 16, 2006 Split a big bottle with Poperinge. Gold liquid with a quickly thinning head. A not offensive aroma, a bit "corny". Flavour is not typical malt liquor but not a quality drink that you want to have on hand either. Flavour can best be described as a high alcohol poor amber ale with a mix of caramel, vanilla, corn and alcohol. Kind of reminded me of Bucanero Max. Beerdedone (1888), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 14, 2006 Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is macro-like with some added hops. Flavor is slightly sweet,thin and bitter, but drinkable. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 11, 2006 Updated: Aug 12, 2006Pale gold body with no head. Thin aroma, sweet barley, maybe some hops cowering in the background somewhere. Taste isn’t too bad, very sweet however, some honey, similar to most Malt Liquors. Ending is bland, and thankfully not harsh.
