iride15 (113), Sanford, Florida, USA Mar 25, 2008 Very balanced for a maibock. Strong hoppiness to pair with the honey and flowery flavor. the finish has an oddity to it I haven’t found in other heller beers.
scoth (13), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Sep 7, 2008 Pours copper and clear, with a medium white head, little lacing. Subtle aroma, a bit like pineapple and cashews. Medium body, satisfying and smooth. Nutty and caramel flavor, malt is subdued, lingering pine hop aftertaste. stchloe (136), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 7, 2008 An overpriced session. Wonderfully mediocre without an identifying flavor. Better than domestic. gbdub (32), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Sep 6, 2008 Pours clear copper/amber with fizzy head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, caramel malt. Sweet honey malt flavor ending with a nice pine hop bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Tasty. Chrism86 (81), Melbourne, Australia Sep 5, 2008 Updated: Sep 6, 2008Pours hazy honey tending amber with tan head. Nose displays dark fruits and some sweet toffee malt. Palate is more of the same, with caramel/toffee malt notes dominating and hinting honey driving a long malty finish. GMUcrew7 (183), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Sep 5, 2008 Pours translucent copper color with creamy colored head. Has a sweet malty aroma. Flavor is more complex, starts out with the obvious malts, accompanied by nuts, honey and has a very nice balanced piney hop finish. Has a nice creamy palate, an enjoyable brew.
