Commercial Description:
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue's proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Had on tap at two Rogue bar in Portland. Golden body with honey. Smooth, with a hint of honey, caramel, and toasted malt. Medium to light body but well balanced. Not a long finish but a good beer.

Poured hazy, golden/copper with a bubbly, slowly receding head. Aroma of citrus hops. Taste was well-balanced with citrus hops coming through in the middle. Slight sweetness made the malt enjoyable as well. A good session beer.

Bottle from the Village Bottle Shop. This is a very good beer. Pours amber with a thin white head. The aroma is subtle but pleasant and intriguing, with notes of sweet honey and malt. The beer is medium bodied and has a solid, robust feel. The flavor is understated and controlled but incredibly balanced. It’s slightly sweet, with some earthy malt, bread and hops. The finish is clear and balanced. The beer isn’t dominated by any one of these elements, but altogether it’s quite a pleasurable elixir.

very good beer with a strong character and aftertaste. Very complex blend of malts and hops make this beer very bitter and pours with a dark color. Wonderful beer
