Commercial Description:
JLS Release #34: Double Dead Guy ~ initially released in kegs for JLS accounts, this new elixir will be launched in 750 ml ceramic bottles in the spring of 2008! D2 (our nickname for Double Dead Guy) is a new reincarnation of Rogue's classic Dead Guy Ale. Mahogany in color, full bodied with an amazing mid-palette richness of toffee and caramel. The hops are evident also, with just enough to keep the maltiness in check. The finish lasts > 15 seconds!! D2 is Double the Fun! Malts: 2-row Pale, Munich, C15. Hops. Cascade for boil (because John was out pf Perle) and Crystal for aroma (because John was out of Sterling ...) IBU's approx 50-60. 19.8 Plato Original Gravity, 4.9 Plato Terminal Gravity.

75 cL bottle, courtesy of Phil_L (at chris_o tasting) and Papsoe (bottle given and sampled at LCRBM08). Pours clear and deep amber with a creamy tan/orange head. Aroma holds a mild peachy hops note to a solid caramel malty base. Flavour and mouthfeel is a bit sticky sweet yet also with a nice fruity hops note. Solid roasted malty and caramel flavours on the back of the tongue. Bitter finish with a distinct alcohol warmth.
