i love the hoppy american ambers. here in ontario this would be a hop bomb of an ipa. Its pretty much just hops with minimal malt. I still enjoyed it.

"Beer appears to be dark copper with a small rocky cap, no lacing to speak of in this brew. I really enjoy the deep rich copper color in this beer to bad it was lacking any cap. Aroma is very hoppy, grape fruit some nice toasty malts and just a hint of leather. Aroma is very nice just a touch to mild for me. Flavor has lots of rich dark malts that have a nice earthy taste the hops are very noticeable and taste like lemon lime candy more than the normal grape fruit. The hops and malts blend very nicely in this brew making easy to drink. this is one of the better Rogue beers I’ve drank its hopped up but not over the top."

Decent ale all around. The aroma is bread and butter, caramel, and some citrus hops. Very enjoyable. The appearance was a deep red, white head. The flavor was caramel, malty, some hops. The finish was entirely citrus hops. Medium mouthfeel. Decent beer overall.

The aroma is strong sweet caramel malts. The pour is more orange hued than red hued. The med sized big-bubble head was also tinted orange. The first thing you notice about this beer is the carbonation... The second thing you notice is a strong hop burst. The hops, were much stronger than the aroma leads you to expect. The malts are much more mild and the caramel nature of them is also more subtle than expected. Th beer is very crisp but finished slowly. A pretty good drink.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with a half finger beige head that leaves chunky lacing. The nose is caramel and pine. The taste is malt, earthy and floral hops with a bitter resin finish. Medium semi-prickly mouthfeel. An ok amber.
