Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with a half finger beige head that leaves chunky lacing. The nose is caramel and pine. The taste is malt, earthy and floral hops with a bitter resin finish. Medium semi-prickly mouthfeel. An ok amber. Pipper (251), Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 12/20 | May 20, 2009 Poured into pint glass from bottle found at North End Market. Red brown semi-cloudy appearance with an off-white quickly diminishing 2 finger head with almost no lace. Lemony/piney aroma, very interesting. Actual taste was not this huge hop beer I was expecting and would have to agree with jcdsmack on this point and the thin quality of the beer. Doesn’t really leave a lasting impression past the aroma. Mouth feel is unimpressive as is the weakness of the beer at the back of the palate. Too watered down and not enough hops for my taste. jcdsmack (88), Henderson, Nevada, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 18, 2009 This beer satrts wonderfully, nice red color good head nice hop aroma. Then it becomes less impressive. The body is a little thin and the hops never seem to reveal themselves in the flavor department. It comes across as big and bold in aroma and color but then it’s a little thin in body and flavor. It’s not a bad thing I guess one could say this is probably what the original killian’s probably tasted like before they turned into a lager. I would suggest this beer to some one who has a fear of the bottom fermented as it has a nice aroma and color but is light and subtle on the tongue. Dogbrick (2864), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2009 Bottle at Old Millstream Inn in St. Charles, MO. This beer pours a copper-red color with a medium beige head that dissipates slowly. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops and caramel malt plus a bit of orange rind. Medium body with flavors of fruity hops, malt, caramel and notes of burnt sugar. The finish is dry and hoppy with a mildly bitter aftertaste. An Amber as I would imagine Rogue would envision it. Above average overall. WVHouseofBeer (389), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 14, 2009 Poured a dark hazy amber color with a fluffy off-white head. Nice hoppy aroma with great malt flavor. Was a little too thin, but overall this was a very good Amber Ale. With hop very present on the nose. On the tongue it is quite refreshing, with a hint of malt flavor on the finish. tmoreau (597), Lombard, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 10, 2009 On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., Villa Park, IL. Pint served a clear brownish amber with a light tan/off white foamy head and a foamy, clinging curtain of lacing. The aroma was malt, sweet fruit and some citrus. The flavor revealed the malt to be a little toasty, along with some dryness and a fresh but mellow balance of the rest of the aroma notes. A pleasant but firm bitterness remained into the finish. tokyogoat (543), San Diego, California, USA

Pours a deep brown/orange with a red highlight.
Thick head with good lacing.
Smells a little funky and hoppy.
I really have grown to hate the taste of pacman yeast i believe. the yeast has a fowl chalky taste to me.
Sweet sugary malt. Hoppy, but nothing powerful.
