12 oz. bottle. (caution)This one blew up on me, Went to sniff it and got a nostral full of beer! Great aroma, sweet with a malty scent. The dry hop flavor really shows through and blends well with the caramels from the malt. I found this one buried in the cooler at the local liquor store... Great find.

Bottle at Nya Tröls, malmö. Cloudy orange red coloured with a medium sized off white ehad. Sweet aroma of caramel, fruits, hops and pine needles with notes of cookies. Fruity flavour of caramel, hops and grass with notes of dried fruits. Hoppy finish.

For the rogue in me, I bring forth today the Dry-Hopped St. Rogue Red Ale. Ever since my first dry-hopped experience a few weeks ago, I have been itching to try this beer, and my opportunity came about when I featured it during one of my beer tastings. As one of their year-round beers, I have far higher hopes for this representation from Rogue than I would and do for their limited and seasonal releases.
My Dry-Hopped St. Rogue Red Ale poured slightly cloudy and unfiltered burnt amber with hints of dull orange into my glass. A huge head crowns, then fades into sticky lace which seem to cling desperately to the sides of my glass. I like sticky, especially when it comes to the joys of hops. Scattered clumps of foam stick around for the oncoming show. Considering my curtain called, I begin with an aromatic display of bright citrus and succulent fruit notes; orange, grapefruit, tangerines. Balancing the cacophony of fruit is a wonderful mess of honeycomb, sticky pine sap and hop oils. Moving into the next act, I partake of her inviting depths within and am immediately engulfed in a soft, effervescent embrace which hints of pink grapefruit and freshly squeezed lemon esters which linger well into the finish. Not to be outdone, chewy rye bread provides a solid stage to perform on. For all the citric elements, they thankfully don’t get in the way of her overwhelming sticky wet hoppy delight. Succulent summer peaches, honeycomb, wet hop oils, and sticky pine sap are the very blood which gives life and meaning to the Dry-hopped St. Rogue Red Ale. I couldn’t be any happier. The end of our act comes all too quickly, and so I bid my St. Rogue farewell. Hopefully it won’t be long before we get to meet again somewhere upon the sudsy stage of life.
Once again Rogue satisfies the roguish beer geek within me with one of their solid performers. Some may not like this style of beer, but I find it an amazingly delightful hybrid of an imperial red ale hooking up with an IPA for a torrid love affair. Truly the best of two worlds bottled in one. May I have another, please?

Cooper colored beer with a thick fluffy tan head which leaves a nice lacing. Lots of earthy hops, nice caramel malt tones as well. Flavor is hops upfront - citrusy, earthy and slight floral, malt sweetness comes through at the end of the tasting. Overall a decent beer but nothing really unique about the flavors.

Bottle. Pours a deep red, golden color with a small white white. Smells very hoppy, and hints of malty sweetness. The smell is pretty much how it tastes. Sweet malty combined with the dry hopped hpoppy finish. Pretty good, robust amber ale.
