It has the taste of a good red ale with the bitter finish of an ESB. There are many dry flavors from the malts, a bit of fruitiness, and a nice citrus/piney hop finish. This is very good. tedovertu (260), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 15, 2008 A good tasting amber ale. Good hoppy spruce hops and some light resin nutty aroma. Medium reddish/brown medium color. Average light brown head with fair lacing that is mostly diminishing. Medium bodied and a little bitter. rds (230), USA

A real complex ale worth your time.. dkachur (2409), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 3, 2008 Dry hopped Red Ale. Aroma is rich roasted malt, dried fruits, caramel. Reddish brown color with tan foamy head. Flavors are roasted malt balanced with a rich hopped bitterness. Decent amount of sweetness. Rasins and oatmeal. Slight orangepeel on the duration. Palate is light but solid and not weak. Pretty good overall. lightning9191 (82), Christiansburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 30, 2008 Pours a red-copper color with thin head. The aroma is malty with some definite hoppiness. Not as much hoppiness in the aroma as I expected. The flavor is good. It is malty with a unique hop flavor. I don’t find this hop flavor in a lot of beers. The dry hopping is apparent. The body is a touch on the light side for me and the carbonation is good. This is a good hoppy beer and is different then a lot of the hoppy beers out there. thechandler (271), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA

A little bit fruity....hints of grape, plum....maybe a little cherry and pear. Flavor is very hoppy. Decently fruity. Still a little grape and pear flavor. Mostly hoppy though. Good bitterness. I approve.
