Lots of piney hops in the nose. Sweet aroma of maple and honey and hops. Appearance is a dark red color, nice thick foamy head on top. Flavor is rich and malty with a strong hoppy bitter presence to balance out that sweetness. It’s almost an IPA in my opinion, but still a very enjoyable beer. janir (215), Oulu, Finland
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 2, 2008 Bit hazy amber orange color with beige, creamy and lacy head. Strong aroma contains sweet caramel malts, dates, dried fruits with dry hoppiness. Aroma is also somewhat syrupy. Flavor is sweet caramel malty, fruity with raisins and dry, grassy hoppiness in finish. Acidic palate is quite full-bodied. elihapa (1067), Honolulu, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2008 On tap, Yard House Honolulu. Pours a burnt orange-brown, quite attractive. Aroma of hops, caramel, and malt. Flavor starts smooth and sweet, balanced with a little piney hop quality. I really like this blend for an amber, it is different, drinkable, and delicious. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 1, 2008 Tap at Barcade "Dry-hopped" version: Amber pour with some clarity and a thin creamy tan head. Rich piny hop aroma. Pacific northwest hops, sweet and resinous with bready caramel. Pretty inviting aroma. The carbonation mellows down after it warms. Strong hop presence in the flavor with minty (spearmint) qualities, piny hop notes and an underlying caramelized malt body. Balanced and well made. Flavors are cohesive. yngwie (5000), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 30, 2008 Bottle, 12oz at Bishops Arms Järntorget, Gothenburg. As Dry Hopped St. Rogue Red Ale. Unclear, orange-golden body with a nice beige head disappearing rather quickly but leaving nice lacings. Really hoppy on the nose, with citrus, resin and some tropical fruits. Still enough malty aromas to give it balance, with sweetness and beef-stock. Some notes of metal too. In the mouth, the hops has a palate cleaning effect, but the beer is still sweet and sticky, with an umami flavor too. Floral, piney and citrusy hops. Full body, almost astringent. Long, bitter finish with resin and malty sweetness. A really good beer, but almost a bit too much. (080709) TEJA (290), Stockholm, Sweden

Not a personal favorite, and you need to enjoy hops and malt. But overall a very solid drink. Bottled. esox (272), Oulu, Finland

Medium bodied and quite lively carbonated. The long finish is sticky bitter.
