Pours a slightly hazy brown with a small head. Good aroma of bitter hops with some malt hints and a raspberry note. Very dry, hoppy taste (yum!) with a malts balancing it nicely. Decent finish - very drinkable stuff. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA

Grassy, citrus, and pine aromas. Not much malt in the smell. Nice balance of sweet and hops. Nice finish that does not linger too long. By far my favorite Rogue that is available all year. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2007 Poured a dark copper color with medium head and moderate lacing on the glass. The amber ale has a similar taste. This beer has a heavier mouthfeel and is smoother. A great beer, I could drink this beer all night and not get tired of it. gnoff (3576), Göteborg, Sweden

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 13, 2007 Bottle as "Dry hopped St. Rogue Red Ale". Pours deep ruby with moderate beige head. Some lacing. Powerful hop aroma is passionfruit, pineapple and sweetish orange. Some hint of caramel malt aroma behind. Flavor is toasty and nuanced caramel maltiness- very full - ringed by lightly bitter citrus peel hop flavors. Lasting bitterness and mild soapiness in the finish along with some very light smokiness. All in all, nicely balanced.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 11, 2007 pours a nice dark cloudy caramel color with a nice two finger fluffy tan head. aroma is nice pine hops with some caramel malt, and there is more caramel malt when the head disappears. has a light body with good lacing and carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma with a little orange peel. it is a little watery on the palate, but has a nice dry hop aftertaste that lasts a while. a very nice red. more caramel comes out in the aroma as it warms and a little more in the taste. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 7, 2007 Dark amber/copper - nice looking brew. Malty aroma. I was pleasantly surprised by the rich hoppy balanced flavor. Some Ambers can be uncharacteristic but this one is really memorable. Malty taste, slightly sweet, with just the right amount of hoppy bitterness. It was slightly on the expensive side, but was worth the money. fiulijn (7500), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 5, 2007 Beautiful red-mahogany color; thin creamy head. Very strong aroma; the hop and the yeast leave a fruity, nutty and wood mix (I know it’s meaningless for you, but it reminds me the smell of the grocery shops in the Italian Alps villages). Medium body structure, with dry caramel flavor, strong bitterness, light fruitness and resins from the hops, but not very exciting.
