Light brown with a small, orange head.
Sourish, citric aroma with sweet maltiness; coriander.
Lgith citric flavour. Light-bodied and a bit bland and disappointing after the promising aroma. CheersMate1 (802), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

I was at bar when I was trying this so forgive me if I could not see the color as much as I would have liked to, but I feel that my judgement and eyes are vey fair. Anyways, I was surprised to smell the wondeful smell of fruit. A dark citrus fruit maybe, or a nice tart fruit. What a great fruit flavor. I was impressed with the smooth and creamy palate. The one thing that I really shocked me was the surprisingly dry dry finish. Adds a nice touch I think. I did like the contrasting sweet and bitter flavors. The head was sort of gross towards the middle of my drinking. It looked like soap bubbles in a greasy pan! The beer was nice and smooth, full of surprising flavors. The malts were a great addition because it made this beer thick, creamy, and smooth. A great find in the Rogue Realm. jdhunt76 (56), Winter Springs, Florida, USA

I’m not sure whether this should be entered in under a different area, since Rogue is now producing this beer as "Dry hopped St. Rogue Red Ale." According to the website, it is a new version of the beer, but it will be replacing the older St Rogue Red. At any rate: Deep red pour with an off white head. I definitely notice the difference between this and the older red right off the bat. Much hoppier aroma and flavor. It works well with the blend. In fact it might even make the beer a better food-pairer (as it was designed to be) since the added hops really get the saliva glands going. (Damn I could go for a Kobe steak about now!) Nicely bitter finish. I enjoyed the old version, and I enjoy this too. joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 18, 2007 Bottle (as dry hopped). Great aroma of citrus and floral hop. Near mahogany color with a firm beige head. Medium bodied. Starts with floral hop and medium roasted malt. Maybe citrus hop follows. Carbonation is a bit fizzy, but not harsh. It drinks incredibly well, almost smoothly. The finish is different, this is sprucy hop? Relatively dry finish, nicely bitter. The hop aspects are great, but seem to vary for me. pojo41 (315), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2007 Pours a beautiful auburn with a beautiful thick head and nice chunky lace. Great aroma - spicy, hoppy, floral & slightly sweet. Tastes, initially, of hops, but opens up into a pleasant malty taste (summer fruits, plum & cherry - tangerine!) Chinook hops lend a bit of citrus to the finish, which is dry and lingering. Thinnish body but great carb. This is an impressive beer, and says much in favour of dry-hopping. Astonishingly, my wife likes this beer. Not sure what to make of this...
