Dark red colour, almost brown. Pours a decent head. Aroma is heavily dominated by a very sweet caramel and malts, some hops. Nice balanced palate, but a bit thin in my opinion. The taste is very dominated by the very sweet caramel, almost as sweet as the German bock. Well balanced finish. Nice beer.

Review is for DRY-HOPPED bottling, not the older bottles that were not dry hopped version. Pours deep ruby red, slight haze, and off-white head that laces well. Nose is somewhat light at first, but with a deeper investigation I found a nice citrusy component at play along with caramel. Palate is caramel sweet too, but balanced nicely with hops. Great hop flavor but also nice malt, something that surprised me. Normally one or the other (exclusively) has to take center stage to be appreciated, but this beer displays them both nicely. Creamy mouthfeel and VERY drinkable.

6/21/2008: Dry Hopped St. Rogue Red is amber-red in color. It has a frothy beige head that supplies crackly lacing. It has a caramel and pine/resin hop nose. The beer tastes very floral. There is sugary toffee and it has a dry finish and moderate amount of bitterness. Overall this is a pretty solid Amber/Red Ale.

22 fl. oz. bottle (13° Plato, 44 IBU, 73.1 AA, 26.75° L) enjoyed during the Grand Banquet at the 2009 American Homebrewers Association Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rating #836 for this beer.

355 ml bottle. Finland. Hazy dark red colour with huge head. Quite sweet malt aroma with hops. Flavour is also quite sweet with hoppy aftertaste. Very Rogue-like Ale. Slightly too sweet for me.

On tap at the brewery on 6/28/09. Pours a dark orange with light head. Balanced aroma of sweet caramel and floral hops. This is a very balanced amber with nice toffee sweetness and a clean bitter finish.

Dark red color. hoppy nose with a lacy of white head. No real bitter flavor except on the finish when the hops are apparent. damn good beer.

(Bottled) Very hazy brownish red with a small, firm and lacy, beige head. Aroma of strawberryish fruitiness from the dry-hopping, and sweetish caramel from the malt. Also some roastiness. Flavor of strawberries, fruit, stuffy-berryish roastiness. Low bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice aroma at first, thanks to dry-hopping - but flavor is too stuffy to be enjoyable.

Beautiful ruby red pour with a thick long lasting orangish head. Nice lacing all down the glass for the whole duration of this beer. Aroma was green and floral, a lot of good hop smell. This is a prime example of the benefits you get in the aroma of a beer from dry hopping, Smelled like heaven. Flavor was a bit malty, a bit hoppy, and a bit bitter. Nicely balanced and really pleasant. Really good beer.
