US trip Aug/Sept 2009 - Pint at the yardhouse in LA. Pretty in red in the glass. Didn’t get a whole lot of hop aroma on the nose for the dry hopping which i found a bit disconcerting, but nice and drinkable nonetheless

Really should try this next to the American Amber. Malt aroma seems old, some wet dog. Dark caramel, sticky full white head. This bottle must be old, though I bought it recently. Stale malt, flat character. Neither offensive nor great.

Flaske 0,355l fra juletilbudet hos Alko Arkadia. Rødbrun på farge. Uklar. Høyt svakt brunfarget luftig skum som varte noen minutter. Kraftig humlet aroma. Søt & syrlig frukt. Litt tyggegummi. Smaken er i samme gate men den vokser videre og etterlater en langvarig ettersmak av grapefrukt.

Great flowery, chewy malty smell- I couldn’t wait to try this after having gotten that nose of glory. Unfortunately, my bottole must have gone bad or something- this tastes like baby poop and death. bottle from Total Wine and More, Naples, Florida.

Dark red-brown beer with big and lasting head. Aroma is syrup-like sweet, red currants and some fruits. Flavour is dryer than expected based on aroma, berries, and some bitternees in the end. Quite slippery and nice to drink. Not top beer but still good and succesfull, better than Rogue Amber Ale.

On tap at the Alibi Room - pours a reddish copper. Aroma is nicely hoppy. Flavour is hoppy, with a bit of roast malt. A fine Rogue brew.

Cask Stillage from the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 25/09/2009 Hoppy aroma. Bronze golden coloured and hoppy with some alcohol present. Crisp floral and slightly bitter malt finish.

Pours dark amber, approaching crimson, with a luxurious off-white head, showing great persistence. Amazing sweet hoppy aroma showing loads of resin, pine, orange blossom, grapefruit and mint. Well balanced by sweet crystal malt. Superb. Similarly, the flavours show a great balance of malt and hops. Loads of caramel first up, before resin and pine show through, followed by some grassy notes (from dry-hopping?). All this is finished off by a captivating and complex (not to mention assertive) bitterness. Smooth, moderately rich mouthfeel.
