It looks great, cloudy, some floating sediment and a large and long lasting off white head. Flavor isn’t weird enough for a saison, but there is Belgian yeast and weird spices. Flavor has some grass, mild yeast and spices. Flavor is a little sharp and lacking complexity, but not bad. Dry finish. I don’t understand the festive thing. Cliff (363), Avon Lake, Ohio, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 24, 2006 draft at Rogue’s Portland brewpub - This ale pours a reddish-amber with a moderate head. The flavor is malt dominated with the expected spiciness at just about the right level. The hops kicks in a good balance and leaves a mildly hoppy finish. Very enjoyable. waolsen (1222), Littleton, Colorado, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 9, 2006 Bottle from Casa De Oro Liquor. Pours a hazy dark orange/golden color. Musty aroma of yeast. A little sweet and a little sour. A little citric bitterness. Slightly sweet spicy flavor up front. Some creamy yeast flavors. Slightly hoppy bitter finish that also reaveals of hint of sweetness. Some citrus peel in the finish as well. Enjoyable enough. Sincere (145), wichita, Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2006 24 oz. bomber bottle. Pours a murky orange with a sizable, off-white head with microbubbles that fade slowly, leaving decent lacing. The aroma is a very faint orange scent with a slightly malty undertone. Medium to lazy carbonation. What a complex taste though! It starts with a strong orange citrus burst with underlying hints of honey, hoppiness and an unknown herbal taste (assuming it’s the myrrtle leaves). The finish is earthy, and slightly blunt. The palate treatment is wonderful, being silky, smooth, slightly bubbly but not too astringent. A must buy and try saison.
