Aroma is faint malt with a slight sewage smell. Ugh. Flavor is hops, sweet malt. Bitter throughout. Rogue has done much, much better. Kinz (2205), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2006 Pretty, pretty beer, medium orange, some haze that gets really dense as you swirl in the yeast, pillow head fades slowly. Aroma is faint, some yeast and bread notes along with a touch of citric, mostly lemon. Citric notes combine with an understated malt sweetness and a yeasty finish. Refreshing. Balanced. Mild. Too mild in my opinion, I prefer a more aggressive Saison than this. Nice quaffer though. jaymobrown (1354), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 19, 2006 A saison! How nice! I was expecting a spice/herb/veg beer -- pretty much because I don’t look at descriptions. Light fruity airy textures. Super head overflowing from cup! White grape light yeast pear nose. Fairly similar flavor. More of a light beer -- good, but not great. Not very saisony. MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 19, 2006 Any first impressions?
-A dense, big-bubbled bobbing head lasts over hordes of furiously rising carbonation.
-A subtle herbal, spicy hoppiness is able to pierce the foam dam.
-Honeyed fruity sweetness welcomes the gingery spiciness.
-The mouthfeel is a shower of bubbles, indirectly exposing its relative thinness.
What if you dig deeper?
-The short, herbal finish could’ve been a little hoppier.
-Tremulous toffee and yeast touch the fruitiness.
-Some oranges attempt to make up for the deficient aroma.
-The yeast pour is disgustingly murky, and the yeast sediment disturbs both the mouthfeel and the flavor profile.
-Not a bad quaffer by any means, just not able to standout in any Belgian style category.
Bottle; no date.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 18, 2006 Hazy dark golden color with a decent white head. Funky yeast aroma, with some scent of wheat. Sweet wheaty taste, some citrus notes, some spice. Average mouthfeel; nice sweet-spiced finish. This seems more like a summer beer to me. Not bad, but not a particularly good Saison. hippie4beer (162), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 18, 2006 Bottle. Purs a honey color with a white medium sized head. *Towards the end of the bottle, when pouring it poured a beautiful wispy cloudy haze in the foreground of the honey color. Aroma was somewhat spiced with notes of lemon and grapefruit. Lager-ish type nose finish. Flavor is refreshing with sweet malts with a yeast backing. Medium carbonated mouthfeel. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 16, 2006 A hazy body and a scent with a good deal of cereal grain to it. There is also a decent amount of sugars present in this funky smelling brew. This brew comes off as a lot of carbonation and odd flavors. So, this is brewed with available spices. I do hope there was more though as to what ended up in this liquid beyond it being available.
