Commercial Description:
John's Locker Stock Series - Originally brewed at the Issaquah location
A strong but well-balanced winter warmer, this ale has extreme complexity made for a holiday feast. The addition of raisins and molasses in the brewing process produces unusual spiced rum like flavors to go along with the well-balanced malt (two row, brown, crystal 40) and hops (bittering Palisades, aroma Centennial).

Cloudy brown pour with black hues, looks grainy. Beige head is small and persistent. Aroma is very sweet and fruity, with notes of raisins, grapefruit, orange, raspberry, toasty malts, chocolate milk, caramel , pine needles and anise. Different. Flavor is signifigantly drier, with a nod to more malts and caramel, fruitiness still present but a backseat passenger now. Anise is more defined and lingers in a grainy and sweet finish that eventually dries out fully. Palate is medium to full bodied, moderately bitter and wildly acidic at points. Wild brew.

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a very small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a transparent softly carbonated brown colored body. The mild aroma was malty. The mouth feel was strongly tingly at the start and weakly tingly at the finish. The strong flavor contained notes of hops spices vinous and dark malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. The aroma was its weakest point.

Orange-red sunset w. nice head. Warm, malty aroma full of bread and raisins. Peppery warmness again of bread and raisins w. a light candi malt in the back ground. Finish is all raisins. A a very warming experience--perfect for winter. Full-bodied and all that you would hope for of a winter brew.

Draft at BW3 downtown Indianapolis. Ivory small head with decent amount of lacing, no visible carbonation, transparent, and a red hue. Malty, hoppy nose. Flavor was sweet, bitter, hoppy and vinuous. Smooth, dry mouthfeel. Medium body.

tap at BWW in downtown Indianapolis. Caramel red with a very faint head. vanilla, oak brown sugar, and light bourbon on the nose. yes, mabye this was a barrel-aged version --> i dunno. flavors are big oaky, woodsy and very dry with lots of hop bitterness. body is medium with a light surupy feel. fuzzy carbonation which detracts just a bit. lots of resin on the finish-mouth-puckering dryness. pretty cool beer. maybe i got a barrel-aged version because i tasted alot of oak and some bourbon as well.

Poured a reddish amber color with a small, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of chamomile, smoke, roasted malt, and caramel. Taste of more roast, caramel malts, tropical fruits, cloying sweet molassas, and chewy raisins (not enjoyable) and a bitter, grapefruit, hop finish.

I have always wondered if it was possible to have too much hops in a beer. This beer answers with a loud YES! Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joes in Pittsburgh this beer poured a dark brown color with a large tan head. The extremely strong spicy and floral hops assault the nose before the glass has come anywhere near. The overwhelming hop scents are also heavily laced with the aroma of black pepper corns. The flavor is an almost painful all out spicy and floral hop attack with some fruity hops trailing and again a black pepper corn element. I only had a few sips and am certain I would have trouble drinking a whole pint. Very interesting but a difficult beer to get through.
