Apr 27, 2009 Hazelnut extract really comes out in the aroma and flavor. Body has a nice rich hazelnut color to it and head is decent. However, otherwise the flavor reminded me of a pale lager macro brew, albeit a high end one. Sorry, but this beer doesn’t cut it.

Apr 15, 2009 Bottle 650ml: poured nice dark clear redish brown with a medium off white head. Smells nicely of toasted malts and hazelnut. Tastes slighly sweet with coffee and incredibly enjoyable hazelnut finish. Mouth feel, I think, had false sense of thickness from the hazelnut, because my first sense was a bit thin. Overall, I seriously liked this... Not too bitter nicely sweet, but not over sweet. Hazelnut is way better than chipotle!

Apr 14, 2009 On tap at Rogue Ales Public House in SF. Wow, this was a surprisingly excellent beer. Dark nut brown color with an off-white head. Incredible hazelnut aroma. Flavor is lots of hazelnuts with caramel, roasted malt, and slight fruitiness. Nuttiest beer I’ve ever had and I love it. Palate is a little thin, but this is an absolute top-of-the-line brown ale overall.

Apr 13, 2009 pours a rich brown with a little off white head. aroma is sweet and malty with some roasted nuts and a light coffee. drinks thin but has presence. sweet malts and rich nut taste that finishes the beer.

Apr 11, 2009 overall just a great brown beer nice nuttiness but sweet fruitness to it smell is malty and nutty goes down smooth and a nice nutty and fruity finish to it highly recom.

Apr 11, 2009 Bottle Pour.Roasted nut aroma,some hint of coffee and wood.Color was like a burnt red and muddy brown with a thin light brown head.This beer started like a thin stout in taste and finished like a doppelbock.The alcohol came through as it warmed which was nice.This was a really good beer.

Apr 9, 2009 Before I spilled this beer all over my fathers couch and my own lap I really really enjoyed it. The flavor of nectar is very up front and the hazelnut comes on strong in the after taste. A very easy beer to enjoy. Wish I could find a 6 pack.
