Crafty07 (391), Florence, Kentucky, USA Mar 19, 2009 on tap as the Tap House Grill in Seattle, this is obviously one of the fan faves here at ratebeer but it was simply too much of good thing, too thick, too syrup-y, it tasted like drinking pancake syrup..i’ll have to try it again. amp811 (38), Charleston, South Carolina, USA Mar 18, 2009 My favorite Rogue thus far. "Nectar" is definitely the word to describe this Ale. It has a thicker mouthfeel than most browns, which makes for a very satisfying beverage. Very complex, nutty flavors somehow are smooth enough to make this one of the more drinkable Rogues. While I always love a good brown, this one goes above and beyond the usual standards. njbfr (105), New Jersey, USA Mar 15, 2009 Pours an incredible red with a creamy tan head. Nose is loaded with hazelnut, malt and a hint of cinnamon. Full nutty flavor accentuated by the medium bodied malt. Aftertaste is almost like CrackerJack. Very dry finish. Awesome. I would almost suggest pairing this with honey nut cherrios. soyorganic (217), Denver, Colorado, USA Mar 14, 2009 Bomber, doughy malt like aroma. Taste, malty, nutt like, hazelnut and slightly bitter. I was looking foward to a little more sweetness. But the subtle sweetness is nice. Nice, quaffable. WakeandBake (422), Greenville, Michigan, USA Mar 14, 2009 Bottle.A nice dark brown color withy a big thick light tan head that lasts quite a while. Aroma is slightly sweet, nutty, malty, some maple or maybe brown sugar. Flavor is a nice nutty malt type roast, some toffee, chocolate, hints of grass and vanilla, sweet but not too much, you can even taste that "free range coastal water" just right, nicly balanced a very good brown, quite drinkable. PJClarke (609), London, Greater London, England Mar 9, 2009 Rich golden syrup colour with a root-beer-float style large, beige head. Pine resin and bitter but mainly sweet dates appear on the nose.
Wow. Like a cold delicious latte with hazelnut syrup. Rich, creamy and sweet. Lovely nutty ice-cream style praline flavours. Taut toward the end mellowing into breathy sweetness.
Creamy and smooth. Highly suited to its flavours.
Love this, coffee flavours paired with the hazelnut sweetness reminds me of gourmet chocolates. Not sure it’s an all nighter but I love it right now. mutant (854), Melbourne, Australia Feb 28, 2009 Ruby red with a loose beige head. Strong caramel aroma with some kind of nut or even wood. Flavour had a little sweetness, lots of woodiness and a medium level of bitterness. Complex in that it would take a long time to appreciate all the flavours here which admittedly, I haven’t done. A refreshing balance between sweet and bitter which seems all too rare. Really worth it. MeisterBrew (138), Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA Feb 26, 2009 Bottle. Poured a nice dark copper color. Aroma was that of hazelnut and a hint of chocolate. Taste was pretty much like the aroma. Very smooth and sweet with a slight bitter finish. Decent beer.
