Bottle One of my favorite brown ales (or is brown nectar its own category?). It is as sweet as nectar, with an amazing hazelnut flavor. In fact, it tastes a bit like Nutella in a bottle, which is a very good thing. Nice malty flavor to complement the sweet hazelnut, lest you forget this is a beer, and a very good one at that!

Bottle at ultimate glasgow tasting, bbf jan 04. Aroma is a nutty brown ale. Taste is similar but chocolat hints, well balanced and tasty enough, but relitivly unexciting.

Bottle at Toms Ultimate Glasgow Tasting ... Yeasty malty with load and loads of Hazelnuts (i was told it was nut brown , so clearly identifable hazelnuts without knowing) little bit bitter in linger for my liking but still wonderfully rounded.

Served cold from tap. Pours a nice medium brown with a slighter-darker-than-tan head. The aroma is dominated by nuts but there are also hints of malts present. I’ve always found this to be one of the easiest beers to drink, and considering the high-quality of the beer, that makes the Hazlenut Brown Nectar one of my favorite Rogue brews.

Pours a nice chestnut brown with an almond colored head. Aroma is dominated by the hazelnut but also has a nice amount of maltiness and other nuts. This is one of the smoothest drinking beers that i’ve ever had. The sweetness of the hazelnut made me want to guzzle this beer down but I took my time as best as I could. There is a nice amount of maltiness and a slight hoppiness added to th wonderfull sweet hazelnut flavor. A slight watering down makes this beer not quite perfect. Otherwise, absoluelty delicious.

Man, I was disappointed with this beer. I’m wondering if I got a bad bottle or something. It poured just like everyone else said, nice brown color with a tan head. After smelling the aroma, I just knew I was in for a treat here. Very nutty and warm smelling. I’m thinking this was an old bottle or something. It tasted like a Bud Light or something. I was expecting nuances of the hazelnut flavor, maybe some malt. I didn’t get any of that. Tasted rather watery and thin. Big letdown here. I will probably try this again in the future to make sure I’m giving this a fair shake but after seeing all of the high marks this was getting, I picked this over the Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout and I’m pissed that I did now. First Rogue beer I’ve ever had and I didn’t get started on the right foot here. Big disappointment here.
