Aroma was light and sweet with hints of maple. Taste is a sweet hazelnut nectar with a mellow hop bite. Although sweet, it’s very good. Tastes a bit like a flat cola and anise. Aroma of nuts, honey, caramel and brown sugar. Flavor of nuts (hazelnut), creamy, caramel and a general sweetness. If you like hazelnut coffee give this a try. hotstuff (3181), Indiana, USA

It had a brown body. It has a coffee flavor to it which I enjoyed. There was no bitterness to this brew. It had a slight sweet aftertaste to it that was not overwhelming to me. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 30, 2003 Had this at the Bon Vivant Beer Lovers Club on 8-29-03. This was labeled as Morimoto HazelNut, and not as HazelNut Brown Nectar. This poured a nice shade of brown with a small fluffy tan head. The nose is a sweetened, malted nutty whiff mixed with light hops. Very pleasant. The taste is nutty and sweet also but with a little more hops coming through. Very good beer. We had 7 Rogue beers this evening but only 3 were new to me and this was the best of the 3. RichardGretton (3159), Leicestershire, England

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2005 Draught. Hazy brown color with a thin head. Prominent hazelnut nose. Moderate carbonation. Definite hazelnut flavor with milk chocolate undertones. At one point I felt like I was tasting a chocolate milkshake. Very smooth finish. Not for everyone, but gives some flair to the normally pedestrian brown ale style. WeeHeavySD (3041), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

I’ve had this beer many times and I think it is one of my favorite browns. Pours light brown with a large but thin head. This is a delicious light tasting beer that has a sweet hazelnut feeling. It is drinkable and great.
