Dark brown (really, I know that I’ve had some "brown ales" that were very red - this was actually brown - bonus points!) Tastes like coffee with cream, and is perfect to wash down the delicious brownies my wife made. Crit (2407), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

The hazlenut approach was unique and pleasant, just phenomenal. Appearance was crystal clear ruby brown with a small head and minimal lacing. The aroma was strong hazelnuts with some chocolate behind it. Flavor was dry hazelnuts, with a sweet dark malt base (chocolate?). Mouthfeel light to moderate for the style. After two tastings of this, man, I’m impressed. One of the best nut browns around. Boutip (2380), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 25, 2005 Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a foamy dark head with average retention. Aroma is nutty from the hazelnut flavour and malty with some roastiness. Taste is quite enjoyable with the hazelnut easily identifiable and roasted malt balancing everything else. Overall, I would say that this is a very good session beer. BrewDad (2370), Olympia, Washington, USA

This was a deep brown color with a thin head. The aroma was that of dark malts and Hazelnut. Loved the aroma the beer also had some great flavors this was truly a fun beer to drink. Never thought it would be this good. The beer drank easy and the hazelnut flavor was throughout but not hugely overpowering. A Great Great Beer.
