Since then, I’ve had little tastes and sips and none of them came close to what I remembered. But finally, a shade over 10 years later, I get around to a re-rate. Yeah, I suck. Chestnut brown, bright, thin head. Aroma is mainly a toasty-roasty dark malt. The flavour shows this as well, but brings in a sickly sweet artificial hazelnut element. The body is thin for a Rogue as is the hopping...yeah I know it’s a brown but something has to balance off that syrupy hazelnut. What the hell was I thinking...this is poor. fiulijn (7420), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

Bitter taste, very original and well conceived, malt, hazelnuts, vanilla, roasted malt… Like a brunch at Coffee House…
Bottle, 2003-07-10, 6-4-6-3-12=31 Brown color. Aroma of fresh backed cake, malt, light hop. Quite good body, stout-like, roasty, nutty. Maybe too weak in the end. Too much monotonous finish: caramel. KimJohansen (7143), Copenhagen V, Denmark

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 6, 2007 Mahogany with a red hue and an incredibly delicious and creamy head. The aroma is full and nutty with notes of sweet coffee. The flavour is fantastic and very well balanced and incredibly smooth, full-bodied and practically without any bitterness. It has notes of nuts, chocolate, sweet coffee, Red Caledonian pipe tobacco and a very long finish. A work of art in bottle - and every mouthful makes me go: AHHH....
