Pours a dark brown with minimal head. Flavor is nutmeg, syrup, toffee, and caramel. A little bit of a thin body and a touch too much carbonation but this is still a very good beer! Deep brown, with a thinnish ring of froth, and not much lacing. Dry roasted nut aroma. Delicious dry taste - that's the first thing that struck me - a rich, nutty and roasted flavour. Some Nutella sweetness in and around the beginning, levelling out to a medium length finish. Well balanced crisp and light - I think this is my favourite Rogue so far. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 20, 2006 Bomber. Clear, medium brown with a small ring of a tan head. Nose is sweet malt, some light mocha notes, and, of couse nuts. I actually cracked 2 hazelnuts just to verify the flavors (not something I remembered well.) Flavor is also sweetly malty, more nuts and brown sugar flavors. Light mocha and milk chocolate notes. Mouth is slightly creamy. Lightly bitter finish. Excellent body! Insanely drinkable, and has been added to my "regular drinker" stable. Joeh (1908), Buckinghamshire, England

Aroma is suprisingly smoky with sweet malt and nuts. Flavour is sweet with unpleasent sourness and some stale malt character. There is some sort of nut evident but the beer is dominated by unpleasentness. Meh! marcus (1904), Sacramento, California, USA

There is a slightly carbonated mouthfeel and a chocolate malty flavor with a slightly bitter hoppy finish. A very nice brown ale. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 24, 2006 A fizzy yet fluffy ecru head forms and dissipates over a rich, ruby/mahogany body. Nuttiness abounds in the aroma with butterscotch and soapy florals. Prominent, flavorful nuttiness and roasted flavor with praline/pecan dominating. Hop bitterness is present yet gentle, not coming off as "rancid" as I have detected in other nut browns. Mildly syrupy body with an efferevescent tingle to enliven the flavors. Although on the lighter side, this is a nice "dessert" beer.
