It’s a pretty pour with a deep brown color and a tan head. The nose packs plenty of sweet, though roasty, hazelnut scents. Hazelnut is right up front in the flavor, but it’s adequately smoky to keep things from being annoyingly fake. Soy sauce, chocolate, and nuts make up the flavor basically. It’s a shade too sweet to be completely exquisite, but when I’m in the mood for a sweet beer, this does the trick. Again, plenty of smoky, semi-meaty flavors are present to keep this from being one dimensional or cloying. It’s a nice beer.

Bomber at Pisa Pizza. It’s been a while since I’ve had this one. The nutty quality is more out of hand than I remember. Pure flavors of nuts are all over the place on this one. It’s not bad, it actually imparts a nice roasty, chewy quality to the entire brew. Sometimes this walks the line of being too sweet, but it’s not bad. I often think of brown ales as having a nutty quality, this one takes it to the next level. jason (1621), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Hint of sweet hazlenut.
Appearance: keeps a thin head, dark body.
Flavor is decent. Alittle too sweet at times. Goes down smooth/ very drinkable.
A decent brown ale but one where I would get another.

Pours a dark mahogany with a two finger tan head. Good retention and lacing of the glass. Aroma is sweet malt, nuts, spice, and maybe a faint hint of chocolate. Flavor is much of the same: sweet malt (with hints of roasted barley), chocolate, sweet caramel, nuts and spice, Generally medium body with a slightly bitter finish. douglas88 (1597), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 21, 2006 From a 22oz. distinctive Rogue bomber bottle with info and a blurb on the right side of bottle along with a good beef and pork symbols.
Made a good appearance, poured a cloudy chocolate brown with a foamy tan head that settled into a thin lacing, moderate carbonation.
Had a hazelnut and caramelized malts nose with a little roasted sweetness.
A crisp, malty textured and creamy smooth medium bodied mouth feel, very good drinkability.
Hazelnuts and caramelized malts, toasted and roasted with a nice sugary sweetness, a spicy hoppiness that is quick and fleeting in it’s bitterness, a chocolate maltiness shows up in the middle and a nutty and sweet malty finish.
Another winner from Rogue, one of my favorite brewers, tasty, nutty and quite quaffable.

Aroma is toasted malts, plums, slightly vinous, with a nice toffee balance. Taste has lots of sweet toasted maltiness with a bit of the raisin/plum character. Faint notes of chocolate and vague hop bitterness linger barely under perception. One of the few beers deserving of the "Nut Brown Ale" title.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied but has a slight stickiness. Quite enjoyable.
