Delicious fudgey(hazelnutty) notes make this beer, what ruins it is excessive spritzyness and iron notes. Finished sweet malty. Nice brown if it weren’t for the previously mentioned negatives. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 15, 2004 Dark amber. Light beige-grayish foam. Sweet, malty, lightly roasty, hazelnut aroma--though not overly pronounced. Medium-thin, highly carbonated. Surprisingly bland (for Rogue), sweet, malty, slightly artificial hazelnut flavour w/ some mineral notes. Also somewhat cloying. Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 9, 2004 From a MoriMoto bottle. Red brownish color, with a medium fluffy tan head. Malty, nutty aroma, choco, some hops and chewy toffee. Very nutty flavor, with some sweet ad nice undertones. Tastes like some kind of sweet dessert liquor. Very nice flavro and a very nice and balanced brew. Excellent! GreatLibations (1454), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 10, 2006 The commercial description is perfect. I would include sweet coffee aromas. You think it’s gonna be sweet from the aroma and front end flavors but to my amazement it stays totally dry. This is a very interesting brew. The color is a rich brown with a splash of red creating a slightly tawnied blood hue. Pours a chocolate milk colored froth that hangs around for a while. Overall; a very rich and aromatic brew that is ballanced. The finish is smooth and lingers. Jokes (1453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 5, 2002 Beautiful brown/dark red beer. The aroma is comprised of nuts with a bit of surprizing sweetness. Chocolate and nuts are most notable. It is very creamy and smooth. Easy to see why this one is called ’Nectar’. robinvboyer (1444), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 28, 2005 Blackish and ruddy dark brown that was clear until I poured in the brown yeast. Head was light brown, but receded to absolutely nothing after not long. Inviting aroma of toasted hazlenuts, bourbon, vanilla, and a little woodsmoke. Packed with flavour: hazlenut, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, roasted and rauch-malt. All said, it has not been lost that this is a sweet brown ale. There is some faint hops flavour and a tiny bit of bitterness. Medium to full body with low to mild carbonation. adrian910ss (1435), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma is of sweet hazelnut cream, malt, fresh caramel and a hint of sweet butter. Taste is very smooth with hints of sweet hazelnut, some malts, chewy caramel and a slight hint of hazelnut roasted coffee beans. Quite enjoyable, but I couldnt drink more than one of these in a sitting.
