Almost tasted like hazelnut syrup like the one they would put in your coffee at starbux. Nice color and nice creamy consistency otherwise but I couldn’t get past the sweetness of this one. drfabulous (1275), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 23, 2006 I used to really like this. Maybe it was because one version of it has Iron Chef’s Miromoto on the bottle. Image is everything!
Otherwise, a decent brown. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 26, 2005 Hazelnut extract nose that is extremely overpowering. Sweet almost cloying on the palate. Roasted malts clash with the extract, almost a pvc type flavor at the end. Vanilla and hazelnut finish overly sweet. wunderbier (1271), Tampere, Finland
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 7, 2003 Updated: Apr 24, 2005Dark brown body with a diminishing head. Nutty malt aroma, light hops (herbs?), and moderate yeastiness (dough). Sweetness throughout with a moderately bitter finish. Oily to creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. A little unbalanced to the sweet side. Peppery saaz hops are detectable and do a good job of keeping the hazelnut sweetness under control.
Rerate 8/14/03. Better than I originally gave it credit for (4.1). Starting a little warmer (50 degrees F)than I’m sure I had it last time, I noticed just how svelt this brew is. Smooth, nutty, lightly tingling carbonation (maybe a little too much so), a good creamy mouthfeel, delicious chocolate malt, nice spicey Saaz kick without being overly hoppy. The list goes on and on. Using Saaz and Perle hops in this brew was absolutely genious, IMHO. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 8, 2001 Well balanced and flavorful brown ale. The hazelnut flavor provides just enough kick to make this beer stand well by itself. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 26, 2007 22oz - Aroma is cardboard, toasted malts, pecans and hazelnut. Pours transparent brown with a nice fluffy head and good lacing. Flavor matches aroma with the nuttiness lingering. Palate is creamy and smooth. A pretty good brown but I like mine with a bit more hops. Maybe this one was at the store a while. JCW (1262), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Brown, transluscent, with a moderate sized brown head. Aroma is nutty, brown sugar, and prunes. Sweetness is somewhat balanced with the hops bitterness. Sweet finish. Great Brew! crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
