I do recall the hazelnut taste getting cloying near the end of my glass. Good for one, but not more. SDalkoholic (1198), Chula Vista, California, USA

Nose is a regular brown ale styled and has traces of sugar and caramel malt. Flavor is delisicously nutty and is made up of brown sugar, caramel and hazelnuts. Also has a sweet syrup and toasted malt taste. The best brown ale i know of. BeerHawk (1194), Huntsville, Alabama, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2009 Bomber. Dark brown body with a light brown head that doesn’t stick around. Nice aroma of hazelnut, caramel, toast and herbs. Notes of flowers. The flavor is heavily sweet and lightly bitter. The sweetness drops somewhat in the finish, but the bitterness kicks up only a notch or two. Medium body with a watery texture that is a bit sticky. Lively carbonation. Distinctive brown ale with a dominant hazelnut taste. A bit over the top on sweetness for a brown ale. Still, an enjoyable, tasty beer. wilkie (1193), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Oct 19, 2002 Aroma begs for the beer to be consumed--nutty
and sweet. Brown and clear in appearance. Nut
flavor lingers into the aftertaste and changes for a
sweet finish. Wonderful bold maltiness. May even
be better than draught Moose Drool (forgive me Big
Sky Brewing Co.).

Sweetish malty aroma with fruity notes. Sweetish, fruity and malty flavour with coffee and licorice notes. Finish is dry and medium bitter with coffee notes at first. As it warms, notes of apple, fruity notes and faint hints of vanilla are revealed. Becomes a bit cloying in the long run. Too much carbonation. 13-04-07. carruthm (1185), Seattle, Washington, USA
