Bottled: Reddish brown coloured. Clear. Light brown and dense head. Loads of chocolate, sweetness and some fruit in the aroma. Flavour is dominated by chocolate as well. Is rather sweet and light malty and fruity. Is smooth and light hoppy. Ends on a light bitter note. Is medium bodied.

22 oz bottle. Ugly pour, cola coloured with a head that disappears just as quickly. Aroma is malty, toasted nuts, brown sugar, light toffee and some sweetish chocolate. Flavour is similar, chocolate malt, hazelnuts, toffee, bread and toast. Thin bodies, leafy hops through the finish wiht a moderate bitterness. Okay, but not great.

Bottled at RBESG-06, GTN. Hazy, brown beer with an orange hue and a beige head. Mellow roasted aroma with caramel and sugar. Roasted and caramelly flavor as well, with spces and notes of dried fruits. I could use some more body. The finish is roasted and bitter in a pleasant way. (060826)

Aroma of sweet chocolate and caramel, nice sweet first taste, right amount of carbonation. Intense aftertaste is very nutty, with slight bitterness. Drank this tonight with my roommate PrinceofNessus.

This pours a red hued mahogany color with a one-finger off-white head. The aroma is rich and malty, fairly sweet. It’s got a creamy mouthfeel and tasted of caramel and chocolate. The hazelnut really only comes through in the finish along with a dash of hop bittereness... a nice lingering way to remember a good drink.

As a un-fan of brown ales this is one of the tops in my history. As good a looking beer as any. A wonderfully clear rudy/amber color with a light tan, unassuming head. Reminds me of ’Cracker Jacks’ - Toffee and nutty. Smooth with a mild malt finish.

Chocolate nutty aroma with a hoppy background. Dark brown pour with nice tan head. Flavor is very complex for a brown ale, almost like a porter with it's amount of chocolate malt. It's malty and acidic on the palate and one of the best brown ales ever, hazelnut is the way to go with these all the way.

Bomber bottle. Dark brown color with medium light brown head that diminished slowly. Full hazelnutand roasted malt aroma. Medium to full body with smooth texture. Good flavor of hazelnut, malt and caramel with medium sweet finish.
