PBOYNY (316), Westchester, New York, USA May 9, 2006 This beer was very flat, with no head and little carbonation. A thick dark ale, I didnt detect and Hazlenut flavor, and very little flavor at all. Not a favorite
Glouglouburp (2180), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jan 9, 2009 In short: An intensely hazelnut flavoured brown ale. Straight to the point.
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed fresh soon after purchase.
The look: Cloudy brown body topped by a medium beige head
In long: Nose of hazelnuts and milk chocolate. Taste is more of the same. The beer feels very creamy despite the very active carbonation. Hazelnuts, milk chocolate, more hazelnuts, a touch of vanilla, more hazelnuts, some butter (peanut butter). The beer sure ain’t complex but it is like nothing else. A really fun beer but I wouldn’t drink that all night long. Let’s just say that the first half of the bottle is a lot more fun than the second half. A bit too sweet and that creamy/buttery sensation is a bit too much for a session beer. As sweet and nutty as my aunt Alice. Every time I see the poor lady she asks me if I’d like some white chocolate and she hands me her denture. rjattoe (3), , Ontario, Canada does not count Jan 7, 2009 Great beer, but wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. Nice color, and a nutty taste that dissipated. Smooth, and definitely worth a taste. Travlr (427), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jan 7, 2009 Tastes like licking the insides of a jar of Nutella. Suspicious of added hazelnut elixir. togaswimmer (3), , Pennsylvania, USA does not count Jan 4, 2009 This has a nice brown color with a hint of red, it is medium bodied and great nutty brown ale taste. This one has a good after taste with a little bite of hops throughout. danielcurtis81 (349), San Diego, California, USA Dec 28, 2008 Updated: Dec 29, 2008Draft. Pours a nice copper color. Good roasted malt, hazelnut nose and flavors. Very smooth beer. A nice drink!
