Pours a very dark brown colour with a light tan head that dissipates faster than I can write this scentence. Smells nutty. I like that. Tastes a lot like Hazelnut which is not a good thing but a great thing! Ha ha. Probably the best brown ale I’ve ever had. Rogue never fails to impress. Such a great brewer. I drank this out of a Tumbler.

Bottle. Color is a nice brown that glows amber in the light. A nice tan head that subsides. Aroma is hazelnut, with a hint of malt. Taste is a nice smooth hazelnut, with a bit of nut. Finishes very smooth, with a little hops at the end. Wonderful beer.

Fantastic beer, one of my favorites. The hazelnut flavor is just delicious without being overpowering. Could be the best of the Rogues.

Pours a deep brown amber with a decent, beige head. Smells like caramel, toffee and are you ready for this? Hazelnut. Great nutty caramel flavor. I love Brown Ales and this is definitly one of my favorites.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 22oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: Its body has a deep dark reddish brown color with lighter reddish highlights. The head is big and foamy and has a nice light tan color. It also has very good retention and makes cool splotchy lace that is slick and slowly sides down the sides of the glass. Smell: The aroma is malty sweet, buttery and has an assertive nutty character. Taste/Mouth feel: It has a wonderful roasted and buttery smooth nutty character. It is mildly sweet and creamy with little to no hop influence. The finish is mildly sweet and creamy as well and it has a solid medium body. On the tongue it has a slick and silky smooth texture with soft carbonation. Notes: This is a heavenly Brown Ale.

Not usually a flavored beer fan, but this is quality stuff. Dee-licious! Even better when used to make the bread at Rogue’s restaurants.

The first thing you notice whether you’re getting this on tap or pouring your own from a bomber is that huge smell. I grew up in a town with a lot of filbert (hazelnut) farms and this thing takes me back to my childhood with that aroma, nothing else permeates the smell. The mouthfeel is sticky and creamy and very sweet but not annoyingly so. This is the best brown ale I’ve ever had, and I am super craving one at this very second.

Very smooth, very good natural Hazelnut flavor which remains noticeable, but is not overpowering. Just a little bit sweeter than I like. Tried it bottled about a year ago and wasn’t much impressed - I really liked it on tap though. I’d give it 4.2 bottled and 4.7 on tap.
