The aroma was nutty, malty and a touch of caramel. The taste of nutty, chocolate, coffee goodness. Full flavor...great gravity and a creamy palate. I love this beer. This is a quite refreshing beer, and really not that heavy. The hazelnut flavoring is light, but noticeable and the right amount. rogue is quickly becoming one of my favorite breweries. It's simply delicious. Creamy, creamy, creamy. Slightly sweet with a beautiful medium brown color. I enjoy most of Rogue's brews, and this one is at the top. shaeffbser (70), Vail, Colorado, USA

Tastes a little like a gram cracker, with good hazelnut. Mild carbonation. wunderbier (1271), Tampere, Finland

Nutty malt aroma, light hops (herbs?), and moderate yeastiness (dough). Sweetness throughout with a moderately bitter finish. Oily to creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. A little unbalanced to the sweet side. Peppery saaz hops are detectable and do a good job of keeping the hazelnut sweetness under control.
Rerate 8/14/03. Better than I originally gave it credit for (4.1). Starting a little warmer (50 degrees F)than I’m sure I had it last time, I noticed just how svelt this brew is. Smooth, nutty, lightly tingling carbonation (maybe a little too much so), a good creamy mouthfeel, delicious chocolate malt, nice spicey Saaz kick without being overly hoppy. The list goes on and on. Using Saaz and Perle hops in this brew was absolutely genious, IMHO. run20six2 (119), USA

Very good tasting beer. With lots of potential would buy this again. The hazelnut brown pours a nice dark, almost expresso brown with a thin, tan-colored head. Although the head was thin, it leaves a nice ring of lacing around the glass.
The aroma was bursting with hazelnut and chocolatey malt. What a stimulation to my nose.
The taste was definitely pleasurable to say the least! It’s like drinking hazelnut pureed with dark chocolate. Carbonation was very light, which adds to the taste. I have a problem deciding which beer I like better, this or the chocolate stout. :-)
I highly recommend this. A great dessert beer!
