It is a brown solution with a cashew colored head and good lacing. This beer offers a sweet creamy taste of hazelnuts and oatmeal. Nose is sweet malt, some light mocha notes, and, of couse nuts. I actually cracked 2 hazelnuts just to verify the flavors (not something I remembered well.) Flavor is also sweetly malty, more nuts and brown sugar flavors. Light mocha and milk chocolate notes. Mouth is slightly creamy. Lightly bitter finish. Excellent body! Insanely drinkable, and has been added to my "regular drinker" stable. Rogue’s Hazelnut Nectar poured really attractive looking dark brown. Clear with rusty highlights when held to the light. Two finger creamy tan head. Light carbonation coming up from spots all over the glass.
Smells of dough, sweet malts and a touch of hazelnut. The more I take in the more I get chocolate and some vanilla even. Smells Good. Almost like a dessert.
The taste really stands out. There’s a wonderful doughy quality followed by the hazelnut. There is an incredible smoothness with this beer. Really tastes good.
The mouthfeel, in my opinion, is perfect. It’s a nice medium body. A little chewy and super smooth. It’s like velvet in my mouth.
Drinkability is way up there on this one too. It would be extremely easy to sit back and enjoy a few of these with no problem at all.
Hazelnut Nectar is The best brown ale I’ve ever had. Another great tasting exciting beer from Rogue.
