Oh. My. Deity. This beer just took Shakespeare off the top of my list. Nice hazelnut capuccino flavor. Definitely verges on being a porter. This is an excellent beer. kumite56 (462), Cordova, Tennessee, USA

Dark brown color. NIce malty flavor with the right balance of sweetness. This one was dry but not bitter. All in all a very nice brew. Congrats herbstress3 (221), Bellingham, Washington, USA

After a few more times though I have come to realize that it is not as good as I first thought. It is a good beer, don’t get me wrong. Flavor is great and aroma inviting. However it was a little over carbonated, overly malty and tasted a little silly going down my throat. Maybe I just drank too much or something else... Marc (477), Yokosuka, Japan
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 1, 2002 Creamy malt and hazel nut nose and a deep garnet color. Head was loose and tan but left quickly. Bock like malts with lost of cream, a little sweetness, hazelnut, bread dough, roasted nuts, and the slightest touch of a barleywine charactor. Finishes long and bockish. Increadably smooth and balanced. beerguy101 (3971), Newark, California, USA

This is a very nice nut brown ale. Nutty and malty, smooth and sweet. Mellow and very drinkable. This is a beer that is complex enough for the experienced beer drinker, yet simple enough to wean someone off macro-swill. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is malty sweet. Etched/Painted beer bottle AustinMilbarge (681), Denver, Colorado, USA

Smooth with nice body. Dark, almost porter looking. It has a distinctive hazelnut taste in it with subtle chocolateness. Would recommend to anyone with a half a brain. First off, the color is stunning: a cloudy red-amber (almost cider-colored) with a nice beige-ish head. The flavor is truly like nectar, starting malty-sweet and rounding out into a symphony of spice, nuttiness, some fruit and something else I couldn’t quite figure out. The palate isn’t distinct, but is pleasant and delicious as it lingers. One of my new favorite beers.
