May 12, 2009 Pours a nice amber brown color with a thick tan head which fades into a nice lacing. malty aroma of hazelnut and some vanillla. flavor is smmoth malthy hazelnut, chocolate, vanilla, nuts, and coffee. has a nice medium finish and is not too sweet. definitly the best brown I have had.

Dec 4, 2005 Updated: Dec 21, 2005Had during a beer tasting party. Poured dark brown with smells of caramel, hazelnut coffee. Would have enjoyed more if the tastes was dialed down to just a hint, not something strong enough to drink all day at work and not have anyone know because it looked, smelled, and tasted so much like coffee.

Apr 2, 2006 Ebony brown with a thin tan head. Aroma has a little malt, a little hazelnut, and a hint of mocha. Flavor is malty with a background of hazelnut, and a hoppy bitter finish.

Mar 26, 2006 Moderately malty with definate toasty/nutty notes as well as coffee in the aroma. Body poured a deep brown with a strong, lasting head that had medium longevity. Very good flavor for the style . Medium light mouth feel.

Oct 27, 2007 Deep brown of color with a brown head. An aroma of chocolate, caramel and dry notes of nuts. A flavor of caramel, chocolate, weak coffe notes and a dry finish with nuts.

Jun 7, 2007 Updated: Nov 23, 2007Appearance: Straight up solid brown in color with a fizzy khaki-colored head that quickly settles to a ring of bubbles and further settles leaving the beer to look like a glass of Nestea.
Smell: The scent isn’t overly abundent, but it’s there. It’s there and it’s hazlenut, baby! There’s also cream soda, toast with honey, and a little bit of chocolate to be found.
Taste: It’s delish! Malty sweet, with flavors of hazlenut, vanilla, and even coffee. The soft, floral hops are delicate and help to balance out the sweetness, though they remain light (and especially light for Rogue). Lastly, both chocolate and honey close out things. Finish is clean.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Creamy. Carbonation remains low.
Drinkability: Excellent and unique! Very easy to drink. Sweet, but not too sweet. A very tasty brown ale!

Jun 26, 2006 Excellent nutty/malty flavor. Weak aroma does not translate to the flavor that this beer has. Going on my favorites list.
